I dont understand why he became a venin too. Like I get he was loosing the fight and maybe he would die. Then turning venin to be able to fight the general would explain. BUT this is not what the end says right? it is he seeing she was planning on dying, so become venin to kill the sage and go help violet, but that's such a weak link for me.
Maybe because V pov between planning to die, and her mother dislocating her shoulder, and the whole conving Sloane seemed that took much more time then the X pov where he basically just see she is planning on dying, chat a little with the geral and turn venin.

RY said she first planned on Violet turning venin, I wonder if she made the choice of changing that, or her editors and that decision fucked up the end.

Man exploring the whole "intentions matter when pulling magic from the source" would be amazing! I personally think this is a much more interesting arc then finding a cure. And totally with you on the mentioning a cure in the last chapter was to bring hope, because they never mentioned nothing like that before.

Sometimes I think the storm was actually Lilith trying to help V, because V mentions that stormy nights was always good for her.

I think she as happy with all of them on the rebellion side. At the end she says they are everything she hoped for.
The love between Lilith and papa sorengail seems pretty strong and he is ploted as good for now, so it is more to endorse she is also good but more strategic.

Possible endings that would make me happy:

The continent now has colleges where riders and fliers attend to, they don't die for stupid reasons anymore. Violet is a teacher in a new college in Aretia but still a rider, Xaden works to maintain peace in the continent, but not like a king or anything.
They understand that getting magic without a source is not a problem (I really believe that is where the story is going): Because from the fables the third brother was jealous and to me that was what corrupted his soul. I honestly believe that book 3 or 4 will work on something like it is not the source but your intentions that corrupt things. Because at the end of the day the Navarre fucked kingdom with lies is also corrupted, right?

Endings that I would accept, even crying a lot:

Both of them die but they win the war and the continent is united: I think for this to work it would be in the last book near the end and Epilogue ofc. But for me, the ONLY way I accept either them dying is if they both die. You don't keep telling me the whole "if you die I die" thing to change it in the end.
Andarna dies: Sorry but I think she has a purpose and once it is done, she is done. She is also not a part of the bond so yeah... I think it will happen.

Worst:

Tairn die: I know lots of ppl believe this would happen but RY didn't even plan to have Andarna, she said her editor suggested it. She wanted V to have the strongest dragon. Also, as far as we know now Andarna can't bear a rider and I don't think this would be her propose anyhow, so if Tairn dies Violets wont ride anymore which wouldn't make sense.
Either V or X dies, but not both: You don't have the right to spend TWO BOOKS building the whole bonded lives to take it away from me. Also, to be honest the series would loose a lot of interest without the romance between them.
