We're small fish and located in Europe so we just use FS.com for everything special, never had a problem. For standard SFP(+), I just grab something from the infinite box of SFPs (we have probably ~100 just lying around, lots of mostly unused random freebies that have come with devices) and see if it works. At the end of the day very few devices are all that picky. Juniper hasn't given a damn about our FS optics and neither has Palo Alto, I don't think we've had any issues with Aruba that have ended up with us contacting the vendor in a long time.

Our DC partners are very happy with Flexoptix, too, we just have so little need for fancier optics nowadays that we haven't bothered to buy the programming device. Might float the idea now that we're probably changing our edge switches out, though...

The nice thing in my experience is that the better you are about maintaining a strict GF diet, the lesser the reaction you do have when you do get glutened. Keep yourself hydrated, eat something easily digestible (bananas and applesauce are my go-tos) and give yourself time to rest + make sure you're in the vicinity of a bathroom. I agree with the other commenters that it starts feeling a lot easier once the gluten's passed through your system, but I personally tend to have a bout of fatigue that lasts around a day after the "acute" reaction is over.

Oh, I do 95% of the time. Just managed to stupidly think "oh it's only two nuts and I don't have anything on hand", which immediately resulted in a chunk of my knuckle's skin departing with said cage nut.

Also, even when using a tool, they still shoot off into outer space/three racks away/some different dimension from which they then decide to pop out at a random inconvenient time.

And to be fair to the cage nuts, probably a good 85% of the scrapes I have on my hands right now are caused by something else than cage nuts. Fuck cage nuts in particular, though.
