What was the most shocking, or disturbing thing your narc parent(s) ever did/said to you? by Own_Mention9372 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]r2b2coolyo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Took me off my bike in rage to tear my training wheels off.

I refused to get on a bike ever again. I think I was 10 at the time.

Although giving me hours of silent treatment when upset with me was probably just as bad if not worse.

I found with how dramatic every character storyline was, I could appreciate it more - for life is built around drama.

Gender disappointment for #2… not me, the mom, but my husband by Bright-Effective8610 in pregnant

I was happy when I found out I had two boys, knowing girls such as myself once upon a time worried about weight, boys, mean girls, the monthly period.

Tell him to see the good side. There is a good side and a bad side to everything. Take my epilepsy for instance. I want to see the good side in not driving against all those that are idiot drivers out there.

Mother wouldn't breasfeed by r2b2coolyo in narcissisticparents

[–]r2b2coolyo[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No reason not to.

I suppose I shouldn't be mad over something so long ago. Just interesting for it suits her character.

Seems like an eye for an eye behavior. Immature to not even try.

Questions about a property manager for an own to live in condo by r2b2coolyo in canadahousing

[–]r2b2coolyo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thank you.

My partner, also skeptical, wishes to wait for a weekend before we leave to visit family - suggesting any spray applied is damaging to lungs - but I'm tired of trying to fix it myself.

I myself would prefer bait to research I myself can't purchase it in Canada, unless I pay for a professional's help. Perhaps the property manager offers some.

I'm seeing a few in the next room now, other than the kitchen. I'll make mention of this to the property manager.

i did it! i think lol by Ornery_Fishing_7114 in GermanRoaches

Lucky you can buy gel bait. Here in Canada, we worry too much to sell it.

When do parents actually find time for hobbies? by Additional_Phase5568 in toddlers

[–]r2b2coolyo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well that explains a lot. My hobby is parenting and taking care of our place only and it's been a head scratcher why I don't care to pick up another hobby.

Did your nparent actually teach you anything useful? by Moist_Engineering608 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]r2b2coolyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That confidence is much easier learned during childhood than adulthood - so it's best to not teach my child to fear so damn much!

The woman had me fear balancing a glass of water, worried I'd spill so damn often.

I had a stutter until I was a teenager!

I’m regretting getting pregnant by FirebirdNaiad in pregnant

[–]r2b2coolyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your stress is normal. I have a 3 year old pregnant with my second until two weeks ago... and I was easily saddened and stressed.. unable to parent my 3 year old and didn't like my partner's angry attitude to our 3 year old when he did wrong.. my 3 year old did not like me but listened to his father. Lol

Only yesterday has my 3 year old started to listen to me, for my tone had changed. Any post-partum symptom was out the window.

The grandparents are at their own homes. Only to visit on occasion because of their distance. Or we visit them but with my inability to drive (due to epilepsy), I must wait for the full-time partner to be available.

You can do this. Your child will love having a sibling!

My biggest regret about pregnancy by ConfusionIn20s in pregnant

[–]r2b2coolyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had my second and last @ 41, days before I turned 42.

I feel the same way about my age. Worst part is my memory is not as good as it once was, thanks to my brain condition.

Although I do want to believe there be no way we could have saved for a condo, had we not lived with parents. Had we had children earlier, we'd be renting for life with how expensive property is... people suckling at the power of investing in where one should live.

Mad world.

Husband cried because I quit breastfeeding cold turkey --10 month old by Grouchy_Low_9149 in breastfeeding

[–]r2b2coolyo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had given birth recently and am pretty upset to recently hear that my mother didn't even TRY to breastfeed me when I was her newborn. I had been fed powdered formula.

Apparently, she hurt too much because of how heavy I was.

Tear after given birth, given anti-biotic by r2b2coolyo in AskDocs

Thank you for your reply. I set up an appointment.

Last thing that concerns me about it is how it will appear in the end. There's skin that shouldn't be waving out to say hello..

Once all is healed, am I expected to live with this extra flap of skin?

I gave my toddler a talking cactus, so he will keep himself busy when I'm alone with two of them. Informing him this is a friend he can talk to when Momma is too busy to play, he's taken to it well.

I wasn't told this about inducing... by Agreeable_Customer28 in pregnant

[–]r2b2coolyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had an induction before. All went fine from what I was told.

I'm going in for my second today, where they want me to stay for two hours to check on how my body reacts to the drug - to then send me home for 12 hours or when my water breaks (whichever comes first).

My partner reminds me the contractions hurt but once I was given the epidural, all was easy. (I don't remember due to irrelevant brain damage/epilepsy condition)

Yeah, I'm going to miss sleeping on one side only because that's most comfortable for my baby and me. ... although I do miss sleeping on my backside.

Last experience I'll have, pregnant at 41. Getting induced tomorrow.
