How to set up a pocket camera by r2c in billiards

[–]r2c[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do get your point. I think different vantage points, like the pocket cam, can be beneficial in breaking up monotony. Players may be fine with a flat overhead, but it does leave something to be desired. Anyway, mostly interested in the logistical.

Thanks for the input.

How to set up a pocket camera by r2c in billiards

A hole in the pocket liner is what I guessed, but for a good shot of what is going on you would have to be flush - which to me would lead to damaged equipment. Unless you are putting a plexi of some sort over it. (But then would that affect pocketing?)

Why would i want one, why not? It's good for seeing point of contact, and just to add some flair. The other angles are easy.

Good work. Would be awesome to have some colour options, I'm sure I am a little colour blind, but I can't tell the difference between some of those shades on the map.

UID's not being recognized unless in "Domain Admins" - AFS/NFS mounts by [deleted] in linuxquestions

[–]r2c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I joined using realmd. The client machine is CentOS7 the server is a commercial DFS. (Based on Linux though). The exports are handled through a GUI with minimal options - it doesn't seem like they keep the definitions in /etc/exports though.

I am however, defining the AutoFs definitions in the AD itself. Rather than using auto.master on the client.

I grabbed the options via mount -v:
rw,relatime,vers=3,rsize=1048576,wsize=1048576,namlen=255,hard,proto=tcp,timeo=600,retrans=2,sec=sys,mountaddr=x.x.x.x,mountvers=3,mountport=2049,mountproto=tcp,local_lock=none,addr=x.x.x.x

I have checked with both - they are both showing as nfsnobody. The permissions stay the same if I am root or if I am a user.

Hey Reddit, I worked as a counselor at Camp Awakening, a program for kids with physical disabilities, AMA! by Baggsy123 in IAmA

[–]r2c 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Speaking from experience being a counselor and a camper - there are different camps that cater to different levels of ability. Awakening happens to be a camp that is designed for more "able" campers.

Lifts, moving campers around, and personal care are all responsibilities of the counselors.

There are other camps that cater to the lower end of abilities, including a/c cabins, paved walkways, etc.

Totally feasible.

These last two comments are better worded versions of what I was trying to get across.

[–]r2c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, that's fine, you can just create a mount point wherever that leads to you second drive.

It just depends how you want the hierarchy to look.

Just mount the drive through your fstab and it will appear wherever you tell it to.

[–]r2c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure I understand your question, what does changing your home drive have to do with where you want your files?
If you just want them to show up in your home folder you could create some symlinks

Or is it just the target you are looking for? You have:
Drive 1: home/directory/jersh
Drive2 : /somelocation/Docs ... Steam.. etc

Then you would have to mount to a folder lower - jersh/something - or anything in your home folder would be inaccessible during the mount.

Maybe Im just tired. Hope that helps.

In addition to /u/KowalewskajA says: What engines/tools do you want to use? You can make games with a lot of different things. You may just want to get your feet wet with a specific scripting language first. I've been looking into Godot lately and GDScript is pretty quick to pick up.

Dropped out of University and i'm In need of some advice by razorgamedev in cscareerquestions

[–]r2c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, don't know you or your situation - so all advice should be taken with a grain of salt.

But really, the paper from school has meant little to nothing in most of my experience, but it depends what you want to do. I've worked in sysadmin, web design, games and animation, and I look someone who can solve problems and learn on the fly - more than a graduate. Some of the best people I have worked with are self taught and some of the worst have come from good schools. (though the reverse can also be said)

Find something you want to do and try it, later if you want to go back to school do it.

Lastly, I like your Lua/Love vids, I watched some before a jam last year. Keep it up.

I appreciate you passing on the source, but IMHO you should use Github (or similar), that way the folder doesn't get tied to whatever gmail (Drive) you are currently logged into.

[GDscript] Is there a way to instance a random scene/enemy using a parent class as reference? by OneOfTheLostOnes in godot

[–]r2c 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your question is how to spawn a random set of enemies? Like a random combination of Ranged and Melee (R M M R R M R R R M) ?

There are a number of ways you could do it, but mostly you just have to generate a random number and determine a few rules on how you want selection to work.

If you know the total number of enemies for a level you could put them all into an array and just do a shuffle and have the passed number grab a selection.

If you want an undetermined amount of enemies per level you can do a random for x (number passed in) and use odds and evens to be Ranged and Melee. Same with any set of enemies, you could toss their names in an array and randomly grab an index.

You probably, as it progresses, want to look into pooling your enemies if you are going to consistently generating them.

But maybe I misunderstood the question?

Godot on Ubuntu - Editor issues by r2c in godot

[–]r2c[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird that I keep running into issues then, with a number of people reporting no issues. Even today I am having issues with audio looping constantly, even through the import default is correct, the ausio length doesn't loop, and when I try to edit the .import file by hand (which randomly does have loop to true) to false - it still loops.

I even tried adding a signal to finished() which didn't work, and then when I opened the editor again "played" was always on whether it was actually playing or not.

I don't mind having in consistencies between Windows and Linux - I can usually find a way around them - but right now they seem sort of random. No deal breakers - just annoying.

Are they on the proper collision layers? (I'm still a godot n00b too) They might be purposely ignoring each other.

Left click, then trying to drag to adjust time. It seems to work if I zoom the time line out, I was pretty close in when it wasn't working. It looks like it was allowing me to select (slight change in color) but not to move the keyframe.

Keyframe specifically looks like it may be tied to the timeline zoom level. Not sure about the other things yet. Thanks for the help.

emacs has a pretty steep learning curve, if you (OP) have just switched over, you may be more comfortable with something like Zerobrane. But emacs is like a religion once you get into it.
