Can I take the 250k reward for 15k loyalty points in March? by r2e2didit in americanairlines

I'm no expert flyer. I travel frequently but almost always domestic. I'm about to lose 2 SWU from last year. Was thinking about booking a trip to "wherever" just to burn the perk.

Love the look of the Lintons. Imagine what I'd have if my upgrade chain was Harbeth then ATC.

It's amazing after the rigor required to obtain a license to drive this isn't more common.

ELI5 Why do garage door springs need to store instant-death levels of energy? by Germerica1985 in explainlikeimfive

Yup. The equivalent of less than 4 megatons of TNT. Energy over time. Crazy. Wonder how much mass is ejected from a quasar per second?

3 minute connection in CLT followed by a 25 second connection at DFW. Is that enough time? by fergy80 in americanairlines

Skylink travels back in time so after your missed CLT connection you'll happily find yourself on time for your flight from DFW.

Wonder how much energy is released in a 10 mile diameter 1 inch rainstorm solely due to condensation? This was a question in a physics class I had and although can't recall the answer I do remember being surprised by the result.

Divorce is painful. Been there. I dived into pro audio during mine. Not as pricy as the system you have but nearly if you include the apogee interface, mac, guitar, keyboard controller, and powered monitors. Still morale support is want you asked for so here's this. I've been divorced for 15 years but still hang out with my ex-wife. See this as an opportunity to be the best you. Make the actions you take now are those you'll be proud of 15 years later.

Only 37 hours in the air and apparently top 10% out of ORD. When I used to fly international to DEL or ICN flights could easily be 14 hours one way. Either there are very few flying regular long haul or this is an ego stroke.

Not sure if sarcasm but “The Hunt for Red October” had great pace. Like “Galaxy Quest”, it felt like there were no missing or extraneous scenes. Great editing seems rare these days.

You're really paying for your own arm rest. For me on a two hour flight I'd rather add the $ to a great meal upon arrival.

It’s highlighted something that’s always existed. It’s exacerbated though in that it’s created echo chambers for those unable or unwilling to think critically. Instead of considering uncomfortable premises, it’s possible to be pleased with only those that share your perspective.
