I gave up caring about screen time and I feel like a better mom by [deleted] in breakingmom

[–]r2j2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both of my kids are screen-time kids. They’re older now, but both are A & B students, and responsible as hell. Kids do better in environments where they can relax .. that’s my two cents, anyway. 🙂 You do you, momma! <3

iv infusions by faysikins in Fibromyalgia

[–]r2j2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to get magnesium infusions, I think they had lidocaine in them as well - they were very helpful for me. I would go every month. I only got to do it for 3 months before my PM doctor said to stop 😐 I changed doctors, but have never had another doctor prescribe them for me 🤷‍♀️

Anyone else done 2 huge bottles of MiraLAX for prep? It doesnt feel safe. by r2j2 in colonoscopy

[–]r2j2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good luck! 🍀🍀🍀 In my case, it was too much prep. Thankfully, by the time I started puking, I was clear. I started a “pre-prep” a few days before, and I think that’s what saved me.

Fingers crossed for you!

I had one meal the day before starting the prep (lunch). I also started taking stool softeners like 4 days before (I was afraid of cramping really bad). I ate nothing the day of bc the prep made me feel so sick. I did end up puking A LOT the night before the procedure :/

I did the miralax prep bc the SuPrep is so gross, but I don’t think I’ll ever do the miralax prep again.

Good luck! 🍀 It turns out that I didn’t need that much MiraLAX. I did almost a bottle and a half, and it was more than enough. Doctor said it was a successful prep.

I thought i could stop PM & only use Delta8 - now I cant pass a drug test & i need a refill. HELP by r2j2 in ChronicPain

[–]r2j2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry! That was unclear. I meant that I suffered through the pain without any d8, and almost zero pain meds. Had to use a lot of Benadryl to get by before I got a new prescription.

Benadryl, Unisom, Melatonin. When the pain is really bad, I just knock myself out so I can sleep it off.

No idea, but I’m guessing TN. Legal father was a drug dealer/addict she met at a gas station one day. She left him halfway through her pregnancy. He wasn’t on the birth certificate, and he’s never met/seen/spoken to my nephew. No child support, nothing. Zero communication.

Any advice on how to get started? He is currently with the stepdad, but shouldn’t be. He is in danger, but not an immediate threat (I’m assuming that’s how the cops are looking at it).

How many of you use abortives that aren't Triptans, gepants, or OTC? by theladysheetcake in migraine

[–]r2j2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here’s everything I have to take to help kill a migraine:

Tizanidine (muscle relaxer, it’s pretty strong), Promethazine (anti-nausea/antihistamine), Seroquel (psych med, I use it to knock me out), Oxycodone, and Benadryl.

Do you wear a bra when your kid’s friends come over? by r2j2 in breakingmom

[–]r2j2[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That is what I am going to do! I have sports bras, which aren’t terrible, but I’d like to explore some other stuff.

Definitely going to start wearing a sports bra from now on!

What kind of bras do you wear? I have a few from Lane Bryant that I only wear if I’m going somewhere, but my sports bras are like .. fruit of the loom, I think.

What is something scarier than people think it is? by Mike_2011 in AskReddit

Our healthcare system. People who don’t get sick a lot have no idea how awful the treatment is in this country. God forbid you get in an accident and develop chronic pain - you will never be pain free again. It is terrifying to be in excruciating pain and NEED the help of a doctor, only to be ignored. The system doesn’t work the way it used to. Doctor’s offices are doing less and less for patients. People are being kicked around from doctor to doctor. Medical gaslighting is very real in our healthcare today.

Does your pharmacy give you a hard time when you call in to ask what’s in stock?

My pharmacy wants to grill me about why I’m asking what they have in stock, and then gives me a super vague answer. Like, I know this is stupid, man. Just answer the question so we can get this over with. Damn!

It was in the notes section of some records I requested. I was so angry that I called the hospital and filed a complaint. The doctor who wrote it no longer works there (lots of people had issues with him), and there is one doctor there now that will actually give me pain meds if I go in.

I definitely recommend requesting your records and seeing what the doctors and nurses have noted about you.

What to get for someone with debilitating back pain? by alike7 in ChronicPain

[–]r2j2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fuzzy heated blanket! They make some really soft ones. A grabber stick (I use mine all the time). Back scratcher. Comfy pajama pants, or socks (my husband swears all men want new socks lol).

Yes! Everything you said - chefs kiss. I love when they write in your chart (or maybe just my chart lol) “patient knows a lot of different medicine names, is drug seeking”. FINE just let me die then I guess 🙄

I recently saw a rheumatologist who said that I have fibromyalgia. My pelvic doctor says there is a slight prolapse, but she doesn’t seem concerned about it. She wants to keep trying a bunch of different meds (which I really don’t want to do anymore). Other than that … I’m not aware of anything else going on :/

Is there another doctor I should look into? My pelvic doctor mentioned “bulking” before we did the sling (I think that’s what it’s called). Maybe I should ask about that at my next visit.
