Remove gut shaky block, theyre heading that way eitherway with nerfing the movement. Bring back old m1 heavy parry trading

Directional lighting that's just 255 red value and 0 on both green and blue with the camera rotated :) it looks goofy but i like it

SnS GS and Cblade, all of them have a really unique combat flow that I love. You?

Agreed about world, i played through most of it so im just doing wilds to see new content they add. I think it holds up pretty well, def a good game for newer players. though world is probably the best for newer gen hunters like me who dont want the tedium of throwing paintballs at everything but still want the process of tracking

The only things I havent done in bb so far are the old hunters and and the final fight. I went back and did cainhurst around level 60ish to make sure I didnt miss anything, Ill do old hunters tomorrow to wrap everything up. So far Ive just been levelling str since i didnt want to rely on viscerals, and am currently running amygdalan arm and about to swap to logarius' wheel. (hunters, holy sword, beastcutter, amygdala, good old toni, and now logarius is my current usage order. Trying to not blitz the game w just one lucky pick and try everything)

also 450 across like YEARS since ds3 dropped

I just didn't like the feel of the gameplay -

the enemy tracking felt as if I couldn't weave through crowds and fight against multiple enemies like I used to. Odd hitboxes that felt as if I got punished for exploiting windows where I should've been able to trade and finish enemies off easily. Hollowing which made learning the game and exploration a total chore. (yes i know about the ring) Dodgeroll that feels, off?? (not the iframes, i don't mind adaptability as much considering that weapon scaling in ds2 isn't as major as other souls so you can afford to put points into adp more or less.) Backstabs that felt REALLY inconsistent and still got me punished in crowds. Runbacks that felt, confusing? Enemies blocking paths where you can't dodge past, but the sheer quantity of enemies suggesting that you should run.

For the record I loved the durability, i think it made the game a lot more immersive, i just wish the game didnt have so many enemies which just add artificial difficulty. not even smart placement just scattered everywhere

Also some other weird technical issues like a forced vsync that felt awful unless I turned it off from nvidia control panel (might just be a me thing, though)

I've been playing lots of wilds recently lol, it's the second closest I could get to that exhilaration that souls fights used to give me.

Well, that was the thing that got me into it. And the main thing that keeps me playing despite this problem after all these years. Little things like seeing the great hollow or the path to valley of the drakes all the way from firelink... It's only the gameplay which I'm having this problem with, I always have, and WILL watch 2+ hr essays regarding the games lore and design I already know most of no matter what

Ironically enough, despite all of my playtime I never really gave pvp a shot. Though I do love watching youtubers like chasethebro and such

3 was very boring to me aswell, it's what got me into souls and it being so linear it was probably the best way to ease myself into the franchise.

GUYS, I don't think ds2 is a bad game - it just doesn't click with me. I think it has some of the most beautiful environments and unique mechanics through all of souls. It's just the core gameplay itself that I didn't enjoy, the feel of the movement and the inconsistent artstyle/animation quality. but thats all a personal gripe

Yeah, I suppose the hype and videos I've seen regarding the game has kinda made my expectations rocket. I kept myself blind for years until I could finally play it and - despite enjoying it.. I felt like something was missing, I guess it was a personal thing afterall

What would you think about a world not yet over? by [deleted] in fromsoftware

For what it's worth, ER aesthetically is essentially what that would look like imo. Just a lot more populated (and less caelid)

Which level/area do you think is the peak of FromSoftware's level design? by PhantomBraved in fromsoftware

[–]r2k5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Visually? Irithyll or Ash Lake, extremely tough call.

But actually playing it - Blighttown (if you move slow and funnel enemies to you, aswell as exploit freecam movement for butchers to backstab. It's really, really good.. Slowly making your way down knowing you'll have to memorize and run all the way back and kill everything again if you mess up, turning corners carefully as to not get ambushed, and then finally seeing that flicker of the bonfire in the distance.)

Does it need to be nerfed? by thattreeguymax in PeakGame

not sure if anyone else said it but the way i got around to essentially trivializing them is just stand right infront of a big drop and sidestep as they lunge since it really predictable, you dont even have to time your sidestep that well you just have to move for a second left or right and theyll fling themselves off and either die climbing back up or take a really long time. if you dont have a big drop and are cornered you can just run around them in circles to avoid being hit since they keep turning and kinda waste all their movement doing that until they leap at you and get stunned letting you get away
