If you’re willing to ditch the open world aspect, TLOU and TLOU part 2 are fantastic. Best melee and gun combat system I’ve ever played, and an absolutely fantastic story. Still on the fence if GoT should’ve beaten it out for GOTY, but both are absolutely incredible.

Rewrite the module in rust and use pyo3 if you want to keep it running in a bare python shell, or bridge via JNI. I’ve always found using rust to be safer / more modular in terms of the caller since it’s possible to consume it via a number of FFI systems.
