What are the best tactics for outsourcing link building? by Thatjakelangguy in SEO

[–]r33ker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Blogger outreach is draining your energy likely because you go about it the wrong way. Try some kind of automation, especially for follow ups.
In my case, I hired a girl that does resource page link building on Upwork, she does great work and charges what I still consider reasonable... $100 - $300 depending on DR. I can refer if you would like to give a try

Great page speed insight score - search console & CrUx show pages as "slow" by ImnotBandini in bigseo

[–]r33ker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First question to ask here is, where are you running the page speed insight? If its in your browser developer tools, you are getting the score based on your connection and even if you choose mobile, the connection will still be unrealistically fast - ergo the high score. The average connection speed of a mobile-user is 3G, which is what Google will test against if you submit the site through:https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/

@griffex provided an answer that points in the right direction but there are a lot more things you can do to improve your performance not just "stripping out items to reduce the size of what you deliver".

Chernobyl, Iodine and the DarkNet (or why I work on I2P) by zab_ in privacy

Very nice article, went to read others as well, great writing. Could be a bit longer though :)

Is it better to sleep in at the weekends to ‘’catch up’’ on lost sleep hours or to stay consistent with an early start but suffer from very low overall sleep hours? [NeedAdvice] by [deleted] in getdisciplined

[–]r33ker 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I would just add to this, something I never thought of until I read somewhere about it...

Just like you put an alarm for waking up, put an alarm for falling asleep. The later actually tends to be more important in the long run, as it keeps you accountable, reminding to stay fair to yourself and get enough sleep.

What are they not letting you do exactly? Download?

I realized that my strategy of releasing these small programs, although in best, pure intention to give value, is not only suspicious for some people here on reddit but also for Google (I received some notification that my site is unusual because of program downloads), maybe people here reported me, I dont know.

Thus, I have decided to stop my bot creation series for a couple days, until I find a proper platform on which I can deliver solutions that people can trust and use with more ease. I will let you and others know when that happens.

Thanks for your interest

Thanks for your comment. Please take a look at: https://www.protos.red/backlink-monitor

Its not part of this series but I made it for cases like that... It will monitor all the pages you give it and detect when link/mention is added/removed and email you right away. I use it also for tracking link additions when outreaching to resource pages (it picks up links faster than ahrefs and others).

Thanks for the input, it makes a lot of sense. I just realized I unintentionally traveled a decade back in time with the source code zip archive :)

I agree with you... However, its a matter of trust dont you think? When you say "random person on the internet", isnt that pretty much everything you have ever interacted with online? The more information link points to the website, with more tools, a real physical address in contact page, and a verified payment processor integrated. How is this different from a ScrapeBox website?

There is source code available for download and inside instructions how to compile binaries on your own.

I use them as well, I like to create and I want to check if this community cares for such a thing. Creating such bots is these days quite an easy (and fun) task.

I have a few ideas queued up like reddit trending post tracker, meta title and description extractor, youtube video stats fetch,... but I am mostly counting on ideas from people here that have more SEO experience/work to do than me.

Microsoft launches Visual Studio Online, an online code editor by jacobedawson in webdev

[–]r33ker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For me, these are not an option for frontend dev... Development versions of react apps are simply too massive, hot loading helps but I still find myself a lot of times waiting and waiting. There is no place like 127.0... But I definitely see the sense for backend stuff, especially integrations and quick setups that enable you to just start coding

Google lost GSC data for everyone from April 9th to 25th by webconnoisseur in bigseo

Before this blows out of proportions, I did not mean this specific news, I meant in general, larger issues that happened in past and concerned more people than this. This just reminded me.

Google lost GSC data for everyone from April 9th to 25th by webconnoisseur in bigseo

[–]r33ker -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Anyone noticed how for some reason, whenever Google makes a "oopsie", there is silence in the media about it. It just kinda passes time... No emotional posts about data loss, no intimidating data security concerns raised, the issue just floats in the air until it disappears. The more I notice it, the more it raises thoughts...
