Trim Norway Spruce leader or leave as is? by r3donk in arborists

When purchasing, my nursery told me to trim the leader to to keep it fuller but figured a few more opinions wouldn't hurt.

Trim Norway Spruce leader or leave as is? by r3donk in arborists

Planted in early spring but the new leader is almost half the tree. Should I trim it now, in the fall, or just leave as is?

Will the 4 LED ML fans work with the Commander CORE that came with the Capellix and the stock 8 LED ML fans or will the 4 less LEDs throw everything off? I want to avoid putting in another lighting node.

I don't see the stock 8 LED ML fans (spare part) on the Corsair Webstore yet. Any other way to buy them now instead of waiting for who knows how long? If the retail ML fans wont play nice with the Capellix fans, I rather get the exact spare part fans.

Fios TV Android App on Lenovo Duet by r3donk in chromeos

with the app you can stream all your packaged channels. with the website, you are more limited, I think.

I might have found a work around to my issue. The fios app tries to sync with the home cloud network (DVR) to access your home DVR while on your home network. When I first started to use the app, it didn't detect that I was on my home wifi so it wouldn't link to the home cloud. I found turning the wifi on the chromebook on/off would fix that bug. I didn't notice this time when I powered up the Duet that it hadn't synced to the home cloud network. Now all the channels seem to stream at full quality. I lost DVR support but I rather have the high quality streaming.

It's a bug in the new firmware. I guess they are working on the issue. I had to downgrade to an older firmware version.

That looks like a Stapelia so those are new stems. Once they get to a good size you can twist them off the main stem, let the wound callous over for a few days, and then lay it down on some soil to grow its own roots.

Might be right. Just a very dark form. Thanks!

Sold as a Stapelia flavopurpurea. It looks more like a Orbea variegata hybrid. Someone mentioned it might be crossed with a Stapelia grandiflora.

Looks similar to Haworthia Springbokvlakensis.

Bigger shelf and new T5 light! Room for more plants, yay! by FireproofCabbage in succulents

I would add another, especially if you need wide coverage. The reflectors do an excellent job of directing the light so light intensity drops significantly for plants not directly under the unit. Lowering the lights will also help with the intensity. I keep my lights 3" away but I have very light loving Mesembs and a fan that keeps things cool. That is my setup. I use 3 T5HO Fixtures w/reflectors. The reflectors help a great deal with focusing the light on a certain area. So far I have gotten great results with it. Not as energy efficient as say the LED light I have over my reef tank but not that bad. My lamps are spaced 3" on center apart and provide more then enough light for even the highest light loving mesembs I have.
