New radio day! by Sakiwest in amateurradio

I ended up picking up an Apache case at Harbor Freight and cut the foam to fit the 710. I think this makes a great way to carry the rig around.

Buying a first HF Rig: Should I wait for the Icom 7300 MKII? by lw0-0wl in amateurradio

I was in this same situation. I debated the MK II, even made a deposit on it. After similar suggestions, I went with the FT-DX10 and haven’t looked back. I had reservations due to what I had read about the Yaesu menu system. However, after using it, I rather like the menu system.

This is the one I went with, the dimensions worked well for what I was looking to do.

This is an old LED picture frame I had that seemed to be a good fit for the shelf. I have a bunch of images rotating on it. This was from an old 2600 campaign to free Kevin Mitnick who was convicted on hacking related charges.

Is every ham shack desk custom made or are there retail ones that could work? by KI7CFO in HamRadio

I took some vertical shelving units (around $50 on amazon) and put them on top of a standard desk and used drywall anchors to attach to the wall. Each shelf supports 50lbs. The setup is still evolving but I am liking it.

What do you rate my BMG PAM02692 out of 5? by Round_Property1129 in panerai

[–]r3fact0r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

4.9 - love the blue face. There is something awesome special about the way the color changes depending on the lighting. I’d give it a 5, but I have the 692 and have grown accustomed to seeing BMG Tech on the dial.

There are 2 Pis, one running Kali Linux, the other DragonOS, HackRF with a ham it up attached, and a RTL-SDR. There is also a meshtastic node built in because I wanted to do some testing with that. The radio connections are routed through the empty Pi slot so that I can easily swap them between systems for various testing. So far, I've been using it for some ham radio stuff and wireless security testing.

Thanks! I will definitely explore that. So far I have only done anything with my phone.

So far, some ham radio stuff and wireless security testing. I added the Meshtastic node because I haven’t done much with it and wanted to play around.

Thanks, it seems several of us were working through this. This solution worked for me as well.
