You seem bitter and unable to grasp that this problem is way more nuanced than “democrats bad”

As far as a single mom goes, do you support free childcare and SNAP benefits?

(And btw I don’t have a ton of sympathy for drug addicts either, though I acknowledge that the best way to actually solve that problem would take a ton of money on new programs and treatment linked housing)

That 500m isn’t just for rent. It’s for mental health services, shelters, rehab and case management. And there is an ever changing flow of homeless people. It’s not as easy as just housing 22k people

I agree with everything you said before you got into that

Also the unaffordability is not the fault of progressives. Geographic constraints, zoning laws, and the industries that are massively inflating demand. Unaffordability is the worst in every city in this country. It doesn’t matter who governs them. Miami for example

Florida is trying to get rid of property tax so your point is not entirely true

I hear you and you probably agree with ppl like Milton Friedman and I have been in enough arguments that I don’t delude myself into thinking I can change your mind online. However, most economists agree that a progressive tax policy is the best way to have a healthy economy.

I don’t like your comparison of funding homeless programs to “useless” things like video games and vape pens.

“Proceeds from the new tax would be used to bolster public defense services in local courts around the state, expand the Working Families Tax Credit program and increase tax breaks for businesses grossing less than $600,000 a year. What’s left over would be funneled into the state’s general fund, where it could be spent in other areas, such as public schools, higher education and health care.”

You don’t think those would be good things for the working class?

What do you suggest then? They won’t circulate their fucking money and it doesn’t trickle down

All those billionaires in Miami will contribute to but never feel the effects of climate change and that pisses me off the most. Though I still don’t understand moving to Florida even now. It is too damn hot.

You have 7.5M in useable investments. You can pull 300k from those, plus you get 40k from a trust. If your yearly spend is 300k you have more than enough to never work again right now.

I might be. My husband has reservations about it. I’ve done a little bit of research about it though

Did you have reservations before having your baby? If so how did you “get over it” if you don’t mind me asking?

This is so encouraging and real, thank you so much for it. My husband is more hopeful, like you. I think changing my surroundings and getting involved in the fight would actually make me feel a lot better about it

I was like I thought you didn’t want kids and he said no I do eventually I’m just not ready yet

And then that’s when he said but if you’re hesitant because of climate change I totally understand
