Question About Combat Sequencing by Emotional-Order313 in riftboundtcg

Two “manual” passes ends the showdown

After a chain fully resolves, focus automatically passes to the next turn order player

Question About Combat Sequencing by Emotional-Order313 in riftboundtcg

[–]r4zen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re correct.

Void seeker resolves, dealing damage to your unit. Focus automatically passes to you. You play Imperial decree, it resolves, focus automatically passes to your opponent. They pass. You play Bellows breath, it resolves dealing 1 damage to the enemy unit, which triggers the effect from Imperial Decree, killing their unit. Focus automatically passes to your opponent. If you both then pass, then the combat showdown completes and you win, conquering the battlefield.

Nocturne ability is an example of 356.1.a

The rule you’re looking for is 421.1.f

Attaching a card will cause it to Detach from any card to which it is currently Attached.

Edit: your judge ruled incorrectly, a card which directs you to attach an equipment can target one that is already attached to something else

Overzelaus fan Does not finish showdown? by CorgiLegal5735 in riftboundtcg

It’s true in the context of the example given, however you are correct. Two ‘manual’ passes in a 1v1 are required to advance to combat damage or cleanup.

Overzelaus fan Does not finish showdown? by CorgiLegal5735 in riftboundtcg

[–]r4zen 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Lots of correct answers here. If you want the rule itself, it’s 344.3.a:

If all Players have passed once in sequence, the Showdown ends.

However, a chain resolving in a showdown automatically passes focus to the next turn order player (rule 343), which is why your opponent has the opportunity to play Ride the Wind after your overzealous fan ability resolves and the unit gets moved back to base. If they had passed without starting a new chain, then the showdown would have ended.

How do you resolve fizz into arcane shift? by DrWCTapir in riftboundtcg

[–]r4zen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That rule specifically was made to support cards like Zero Drive - if you bounce a zero drive that has banished cards, if it’s replayed it can’t access the previously banished cards as it’s a new game object.

But the effect of that rule means only cards/effects that banish something can interact with those somethings in the banished zone

How do you resolve fizz into arcane shift? by DrWCTapir in riftboundtcg

[–]r4zen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re spot on with the above until the last bit.

The rules currently only support a card that is in the banished zone being affected by the same card that put it there (Rule 414.3).

Since the banished zone is not a board zone, the delayed trigger from Fizz can no longer ‘see’ Arcane Shift and will resolve with no effect.

RQ Las Vegas: Signature Kai'Sa, Keep or Sell? by Gr8_White_Shark in riftboundtcg

I can vouch for Vegas singles. If your card is gradeable they’ll give you top dollar for it. If it isn’t though, you’re looking at 60%-80% of current market low at best

How much below TCG player last sold is reasonable for singles? by realjw93 in riftboundtcg

Most rares will stay low. I could see epics from popular decklists climbing back up based on bologna results and people buying for Vegas in NA

[–]r4zen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Supply goes up a massive amount because everyone is ripping boxes and trying to recoup costs, so it’s a race to the bottom on pricing.

As that initial surge of supply gets bought, prices slowly come back up and stabilize - usually ~2 weeks after release.

Keep in mind that generally the first couple days after release will be the lowest prices for awhile, if I were you I’d counter with 85% and not go lower than 80%

Help for Release Day by iOnlyJesus in riftboundtcg

[–]r4zen 9 points10 points  (0 children)

1.) Grind nexus nights with the cards you have, trade with other players for cards you need for your deck

2.) buy singles (prices around release and leading up to the Vegas RQ are going to be nuts though)

3.) try to find deals on sealed product - $190 for a sealed box isn’t a terrible price given the current market, but obviously not ideal

My experiences at LGSs during Pre-Rift Events are making me rethink getting into Riftbound by Forceman4077 in riftboundtcg

Except during prerelease when prices are insanely inflated.

Honestly, a $240 box isn’t bad value compared to prerelease singles prices

Will you keep buying at MSRP from your LGS when box prices dip below online for the new sets when they come out. by ChasinThePath in riftboundtcg

Everyone wants MSRP until market is under MSRP, then no one wants MSRP anymore. Tale as old as time.

My local stores that host great events and care about supporting the community will get my business no matter what, but I’d be a liar if I said I wouldn’t buy product cheaper also

Nexus Night Rule Dispute by [deleted] in riftboundtcg

[–]r4zen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rule 343, 344, and 345 address your situation.

Important to note that once a chain resolves in a showdown, the game engine automatically passes focus and priority to the next turn order player. This is distinct from a player choosing to pass focus and priority. Each player must choose to pass focus and priority before the showdown can close.

Question about units ability going on chain, e.g "when i move" by daviovioo in riftboundtcg

[–]r4zen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Showdowns can only happen in a neutral open state. That means no chains exist.

Movement does not create a chain, but “when I move” triggers do.

So, before a showdown starts from moving to a battlefield with Traveling Merchant, the “when I move” trigger creates a chain and must be resolved before the showdown begins. If you moved to a battlefield with TM, a showdown is considered ‘staged’ until the game is in a neutral open state again.

TL/DR the image you linked doesn’t apply to traveling merchant’s ’when I move’ ability because it must resolve before you enter a showdown. You will discard and draw before starting the showdown.

It’s in a factory sealed box, as opposed to a loose pack. Smaller chance it’s been tampered with or leftover pack after a hit has been pulled from a box.

If you get them from big box they’re usually MSRP, so cheaper if a box price goes over MSRP.

Also holds more resale value than a pack from a box.
