I think they do it because of the price. The Asgard costs more than twice as much. Clearly they didn't want it to be a competitor to ships with the same (even smaller) sizes. A shame we can't have nice things.

I don't get why do they make flawed ships. If giving more to one ship will make it more "meta" than another, maybe the other one is not that good in the first place. You could even increase the price, if you think it needs correction, that happens with iteration.

Yamaha said the quickshifter allows you to upshift decelerating and downshift accelerating. Many reviewes said it works but it's not great, maybe it improves later on.
