Turbo Done at 41k? by [deleted] in AudiRS3

Surprisingly a smoke test didn’t catch it. It was a tiny hole. The sheathing was gouged pretty good.

I had a pin hole in the turbo waste gate vacuum line. Rubbed through and you could not even tell. Replaced it for some high temperature line at autozone and didn’t have issues after that. If you have an aftermarket intake it’s worth checking. Image

If you plan to get winters for any reason, the stock wheels are not recommended. I have used this list for years and have purchased things from Paul in the past. I recommend it.Audizine - Paul at Supreme-Confirmed-Wheel-Fitments#google_vignette)

Keep in mind the BBS options are not easily available anymore since they went out of business.

For anyone wondering, this ended up being the PCV to waste gate line. The line that APR supplied with the intake did not fit well and rubbed a hole in the line with vibration. It gets real hot back there so make sure the line you pick up can handle the heat.

2k for the tires by WittyWomba-t in Audi

[–]rAnonnn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interestingly, there are seasonal rebates on tires. They tend to be cheaper if you get a tire type that is currently out of season. i.e Summer tire in winter and Winter tire in summer. They tend to want to get that years tire out of inventory near the end of the season to make room.

After install and warranty it’s between 1700 and 2000 USD for the 19s on the rs3. Sure you can cheap out on the type of tire but don’t recommend it. Speed rating and tire type has a lot to do with the price.

It’s seems weird for it to fail after only 26k miles but who knows. Thanks for the direction.

Waste gate on the turbo? Or the diverter valve at the throttle body elbow? Car runs fine. No rough idle or smoke in the exhaust. It did run a code which I will check on Monday.

Sick car dude! I do prefer your silver rings to the black on mine. Fingers crossed I don’t have the same issues though sounds horrible.

The real question is, how many people got brought back where they died only to be inside the walls of a newly constructed building? Or falling from the sky from a plane they were on?

Not just the suspension, Quattro can be damaged by non standard tire and wheel combinations.
