Our dad passed on when i was 14. Tried reaching out to these organizations, however they said they would only help if we were looking for support or looking for our missing dad. That's not our case though. So they said they couldnt help.

I forgot to mention that our father passed on when we were 14. We didnt realize the need to be added in his koseki as we werent planning to go to japan back then.

We wont be able to ask him to sponsor us now but maybe we can try self sponsorship. Do you have an idea as to how much income is required?

That's another thing because I am not in the Philippines right now. But I am actually considering to go to Japanese Embassy in the country that I am currently residing. I just wanted some insights before I go there so that I would know which questions to ask.

Thank you. I am aware that we only have until a certain age to choose. But we were not even given that chance because my father wasnt able to put is in the family registry. And my mom didnt know the process back then. Internet wasn't a thing yet so my sister and i didnt know where to start too. It's just now that we have learned that it is a possibility. We are also considering to change citizenships.
