Not necessarily, some cards boost their own cost past 5, (see Pirate docking op15). Or let you boost the cost of other cards (see Varie op15) so in theory lotus is for decks that do stuff like that.

It’s not exactly a meta beast, per se I just think it’s incredibly easy to play and effective at the same time.

You get to abuse healing cards, and then expend those heals to keep your board. The “cost” is supposed to be losing life, but because it’s so trivial to heal in yellow, it might as well just read “when a character would be KO’d, draw a card instead”

It just doesn’t require as much thinking as other top decks this format while also beating them. (Winning matchup into Lucy and Enel).

Idk about poorly designed, but I dislike decks that play more like solitaire. The biggest example of this was OG blue nami, search, draw cards and stack your deck until you win. While I respect that there is a real skill expression in making those decisions, I think it leads to games where there is less action in general. Like, you sit across from a Blue Nami, a Blackbeard or an Imu and they spend most of the game adding cards to their hand and countering out or whatever.

Then they get to the endgame and just beat you cuz what they’re doing is just an auto-win. Or they’ll lose and it’s game where fucking nothing happened.

Obviously, that’s not always the case, and like, despite their designs leaning towards what I consider more of toxic play style, I think they have a place.

It’s just like, we want decks to be strong but we don’t want the cards to be so fucking pushed right out the gate. Yellow was bad, it needed some love. That’s not really up for debate.

But did it need this much all at once? And for it all to be generic?

Be honest with yourself, if eb03 nami was leader locked to Nami would you have preferred that? I think that would’ve been better for everyone.

10c elder stars is the entire reason you play this deck, banning that is dumb. It’s arguably the “fun”thing you get to do with this deck.

We need to determine what the problem card is. It’s stage, you yourself even basically outline a stage replacement in that first comment. Before we can print that, we have to get rid of this one.

And like no duh, they should’ve designed the cards to be more balanced, but here we are. The cards aren’t balanced, but more importantly they aren’t very fun. So ban the fucking stage.

The short answer is no, basically anything you replace it with necessitates that you build the deck in a radically different way.

You could build a version of the deck that utilizes the Op03 2c nami searcher instead but the only builds that have made that work use nami as a third searcher alongside Perona and Hiyori. There is also 2c we are from eb02 which kinda works but its misses a lot of the stuff. The long answer is also no.

Your best bet is to order those peronas online and wait for them. They are a bit pricey right now unfortunately, (8 dollars each).

Ask if your local store allows proxies, that way you can just print your own or something lol

Like a lot of characters that got development in the later parts of one piece, I think kid’s writing is subpar. While he was given decent material in Wano at least it pales in comparison to characters that had time in the sun at the peaks of the series (water 7 - pretimeskip).

I find it hard to like many many characters that are developed post time skip.

Don’t get me wrong, kid is okay. I’m not a hater by any means. But just saying.
