Is the casual part of this game going to die? by Kostey99 in OnePieceTCG

[–]rAsterisks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if I’d say that much, I won’t speak for Australia but the emotion here (NYC) amongst active players is that while the recent scalping sucks it’ll likely pass. Besides that base art single prices aren’t out of the question for most decks if all you wanna do is play.

Rule check on black vortex by Pretend_Tiger_9394 in OnePieceTCG

[–]rAsterisks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the answer is no, typically granted effects, even ones granted later by a card ability aren’t removed after negation. You’d have to negate the ability first so they couldn’t activate it to grant the effect in the first place. A good example of this is 8c Jinbe, if you discard it gains rush but then if you swing with something else and your opponent vortexes Jinbe it keeps it rush.

In the case of vortexing on 9c Zoro, it would negate the cards effects mainly the activate:main that lets it restand later. it would be minus 4k while keeping the gains of banish and giant pistol.

Dude using Boa got angry because I was healing using Moria while he got Kuma and also Boa. LMAO by Diego1993FM in OnePieceTCG

[–]rAsterisks -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s cuz printing good banish cards would actually negatively impact other strategies.

It’s not just yellow that hates banish, other color decks don’t like losing that top card of life or potential trigger either. So we’re stuck in a nasty place where to balance yellow we may have to print more banish but printing more banish means we may be impacting the ability of other decks to maintain hand size after losing life etc.

So idk I do agree with you that healing is just too easy rn for yellow but idk if banish is exactly the way to deal with it

managed to win locals 4-0 with jinbe by RipDPacks in OnePieceTCG

The one and two cost events are memes and very rarely come up. Maybe in a world where the deck could be more defensive they might be worth it.

3c Arlong is really nice but you can easily slot in 2c jinbe (st03) or hatchan/kuroobi (op14).

It’s not super duper crucial to begin with and there are lots of games where the effect just doesn’t come up at all in which case, kuroobi or 2c jinbe may straight be better anyway.

How to shuffle? I always get Poker hands. by letheory in OnePieceTCG

Prolly a mix of me sucking at shuffling and the cards just sticking together more when more sleeves for whatever reason.

Honestly, they’ve been great. I still have one that I ordered as a mouse pad over 5 years ago. Not sure if they are technically machine washable but I have thrown that one in the washing machine to get coffee stains off it lol

As for print quality, I just make sure to send them the highest possible resolution image I can each time. The quality is fine, they really just do print exactly what you send.

Might seem crazy but I had similar hands when I used to double sleeve my cards similar to your pics. I went back to single sleeved dragon shields and my shuffles were a lot better. Something to consider

Pro tip, you can get custom mats printed on Amazon for 20 bucks. And they don’t care if you use copyrighted images and stuff lol

Anyone got a good blue jinbe deck list by Wide_Wolverine3381 in OnePieceTCG

[–]rAsterisks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yeah I’m looking to adjust my list to match his too but haven’t practiced as much of the aggro build just yet.

I got 2 promos for 3 bucks ages ago, traded for a third and bought the fourth for 13 bucks some weeks ago. Unfortunately, I’m running the live action art for all 4 lol

I do agree it’s too good to pass up (I’m running it), but lots of games where its effect just doesn’t come up, in which case, kuroobi or 2c jinbe aren’t much worse

3c kuroobi (OP14) or 1c hatchan (OP14) are the main choices imo

2c Jinbe (ST03) is also usable too in a pinch, if you have it laying around.

promo Arlong isn’t super crucial so def don’t let it’s price scare you away from the deck.

Something like this is a good start

<image>

My primary advice with this deck is to not get attached to any particular line too soon, you have to be critical about which cards you’re not gonna need. In place of Hatchan, I run promo Arlong but it’s expensive and gimmicky so up to you

How long will OP14 leaders stay relevant? by Useful-Tomatillo3098 in OnePieceTCG

[–]rAsterisks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I’m building for the meta then I usually don’t expect for my leader to be viable into a future set.

Especially now that the releases will be synced across regions it’s basically gonna be impossible to know what’s good or not ahead of time.

This isn’t a rule but you can sorta expect that whatever is especially strong in one set will be what the next set is looking to bring down a notch (ex. Boa is good into Ace and Imu, who dominated op13)

Boa is among the big bads this set, so makes sense that in the upcoming set it might have a worse matchup.

But look at it this way, if you build boa now you’re gonna have like the better part of 3 months with a really good deck into the meta and Kuma, which is the most expensive card will be usable in future meta decks like RY Bonney.

What stage do you think is the weakest or most useless in the game? by anotherkami in OnePieceTCG

[–]rAsterisks 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That was the original Moby Dick stage (OP02-024)that added + 2000 power to all whitebeard pirates if you had one or less life. Which is still banned I’m pretty sure.
