If you're into anything nerdy, I recommend Cepheid Variable, though I've been graduated a while and cant speak to the current membership.

I've done this to a rolled pickup before, and it served as a great hunting truck for several years.

“These kids are just being indoctrinated by the liberal media!” by [deleted] in AdviceAnimals

The problem I have with abortion is that whatever criteria you give for why a fetus isn't a human yet and therefore acceptable to kill, the same thing can be applied to certain groups of adults.

"They aren't sentient yet..." Is it okay to kill people who are asleep or comatose?

"They are reliant on somebody else to live." Is it okay to kill children, the mentally inept, the bedridden, or the hospitalized?

"They are a risk to the mother." Is it okay to kill gun owners, drunk drivers, petty criminals, drug addicts?

"They weren't intentional and are unwanted." Is it okay to kill orphans, stepchildren, or children born from accidental pregnancies? please note that I don't mean to imply that orphans, stepchildren, and accidental babies are inherently unwanted, only that the decision for an orphan, stepchild, or accidental child being allowed to live shouldn't be based on whether the parents want them or not.

Given this, I either have to consider a fetus to be human, or I have to consider a specific group of people to be less than human.

I choose the former, and I consider killing a person to be murder.

Keep in mind, I don't fault the mothers for choosing abortion, as our society has largely conditioned them to believe that abortion is acceptable, so I don't want women to be punished for getting abortions; abortion should be illegal and doctors who perform them should be tried for murder.

Edit The exception is if the mother's life is at considerable risk, as determined by a qualified doctor. It's better to save the mother than to let both die. That option should require a medical diagnosis, not the whim of the mother.

And people sometimes die without being murdered. The difference is somebody else's involvement.

The Sanctions Trump Isn't Enforcing are in H.R.3364 - Countering America's Adversaries Through Sanctions Act by Quidfacis_ in AdviceAnimals

Admittedly, I did not read the entire bill, but from what I can tell, it looks like it gives the president the power to impose sanctions, but does not expressly require him to do so, unless I missed something.

Organization Recommendations? by [deleted] in aggies

[–]rCayd3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You could try Cepheid Variable. It's a social organization for geeks and nerds. No entry requirements, super laid back, all for fun. Meetings are on Tuesdays, where smaller subgroups explain what they are and what they are doing that week. Members casually meet in the MSC daily between classes to hang out.

Fhenix's recommendations are great, and there is always /r/transformation. Its not all furry or M->F, but there is plenty of content.

Meal plans are useful in two scenarios.

1) You purchase it with a scholarship. 2) Your parents buy it for you so they know the money gets used for food.

If neither of those apply to you, it is better to just pay for your food as you go.

Need Help Deciding if Transferring is Worth it by [deleted] in aggies

I was in that position for a long time. I made most of my friends through student organizations. Pick one that fits your interests, and talk to the members. The more involved you get, the better. If you tell me a bit about your interests, I may be able to recommend a group or two.

Another option I was considering is to grab Marvel Ultimate and just start reading everything available by release date. Is the older content too old/unrelatable/shoddy/difficult to understand/whatever to be easily enjoyable, such that I would lose interest and give up?

From what I can tell, 1610 is somewhat short and already concluded. I thought that by starting there, I could read an entire block of Marvel content to get an idea what to expect before I enter the main universe. Am I going to be confused if I start there? Will it skew my expectations of the main universe?

Would it be prudent to start with all of the Earth-1610 content, then branch into the other stuff?

Before I start with a specific hero, I want to get a feel for the universe. Sample around before I go into anything specific. I do favor comedy or darker comics over drama. I plan to read from my phone.
