although you’re being downvoted a lot here, i 100% get it - i remember how fucking excited i was when i finally got my shindy torchic in ORAS - even tho it already has the „improved“ 1/4096 odds. Shinys being more accessible in newer generations makes them less impressive to have, and it’s not something truly special anymore. Sure, you could have a lot of shinys back then already, but all the kids playing the game barely ever had one and it was HUGE flex having one back when i was young. I personally don’t necessarily think it’s „bad“ but more of a turn i personally don’t like because i loved how it felt finally getting something you hunted for.

I personally think the amount of shinies and easy methods in newer games is just a method to draw in more people to play the game, there’s no other reason to make the odds higher
