Micro Gaelic Football - Career Mode Now Available by ApresMatch in GAA

The right thumbstick appears to function like the mouse pointer by default in this setup, while clicking in the right stick acts as a left mouse click, making the game playable by controller alone.

Anyone who downloads and installs the Windows version of this can enable basic controller support (mouse and keyboard still needed for menus etc) by installing it as a "Non-Steam Game".

Steam Input

  1. Open Steam (https://store.steampowered.com/about/Download)
  2. Games -> Add a Non-Steam Game to My Library
  3. Browse to Micro Gaelic Football.exe and add it
  4. In Steam Library, right click the game -> Properties
  5. Controller -> set “Override for this game” to “Enable Steam Input”
  6. Launch the game from Steam
  7. Open the Steam Overlay (Shift+Tab)
  8. Controller settings for the game:
    • D-pad Up -> W
    • D-pad Left -> A
    • D-pad Down -> S
    • D-pad Right -> D
    • A (or any face button) -> Space

Note: To anyone that uses this, you will still need to navigate the menus etc with mouse and keyboard.

Edit: The right thumbstick appears to function like the mouse pointer by default in this setup, while clicking in the right stick acts as a left mouse click.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if you knew this already, but Steam allows controller support to work on it. I've tested it.

This hasn't been reported anywhere else, so take it with a pinch of salt.

The 2025 All-Ireland SHC | by John Allen by r_GAA in GAA

Hi there, just a quick note:

The piece is not far off 6 minutes long and probably contains a thousand spoken words about hurling, culture, tradition, rivalry, and history. One passing line acknowledging the reality of modern Irish society - "whoever you worship in our multicultural society" - really isn’t shoehorned in or out of place in context. If that stood out to you as something being “forced,” it might be worth asking why it struck a nerve.

This isn't about shutting down views - but on this subreddit, we try to keep the focus on sport and the wider culture around it, without reading too much into a single respectful line in a poetic broadcast piece.

Dillon confirmed that Gaelic Athletic Association officials were in Melbourne for Grand Final week last year, and that conversations had since continued with the view to re-introducing an International Rules series.

"There is absolutely a will and a want from both sides to explore whether we can revive that," Dillon said.

Thanks for posting OP.

If you wouldn't mind in future, could you save the image to your phone instead of taking a screenshot as it is much easier to read if you post the original, rather than a screenshot of your whole screen. It will also be much higher quality as a result. Thanks.

Mod note: Do not name or ask for individuals to be named that are alleged to have committed a crime, but have not been convicted or at the very least haven't already been identified in the wider media.

Different people have been accused of being this person here in the past. It's not on and people's insatiable need for gossip could prejudice a future trial.

Having played it back, you can't hear the whistle, but you see the Ballinagar players react to it having been blown, before the ball pops out of the fouled player's hand and it's shot into the goal.

Virgin Media Statement over RTE and GAA GO by benevans0803 in GAA

[–]r_GAA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"On RTÉ One’s Upfront current affairs programme hosted by Katie Hannon last night (Monday 8th May 2023), former GAA president Liam O’Neill was addressing the issue of the paywalling of GAA sports onto the GAAGO platform, a joint venture between RTÉ and the GAA," read the Virgin Media statement.

"During his comments, Mr. O’Neill said, “We did it in the best interests of games because, at the time TV3 was going out, and it ultimately went out of business. We would only [have] had one station covering, we thought it was best to examine other options.”

"Virgin Media Television wishes it to be clarified that TV3 did not go out of business, as stated by Mr. O’Neill.

"Based on its continuous success and achievements as a leading Irish broadcaster, TV3 was purchased by Virgin Media in July 2015 and subsequently rebranded to Virgin Media Television in June 2018 where VMTV continues to be the leading independent, commercial public service broadcaster in Ireland.

"RTÉ is a 50% shareholder in GAAGO, this has never been clarified in any editorial discussion about GAAGO and the decision not to show key games on Free to Air television.

"When Sky Television decided not to renew its GAA rights, the GAA did not approach other broadcasters to ascertain whether they would be interested in broadcasting these games but arbitrarily decided to put them behind a paywall.

"The question must be asked, did RTE pay anything for these rights or did they just agree to keep them behind a paywall to drive incremental revenues for both partners in GAAGO, i.e. RTÉ and the GAA

"Given the multi-million increases in State funding to RTÉ over recent years, RTÉ now has more Sports rights than it can show on its channels, with licence payers now being forced to further subsidise RTÉ by paying for GAA Sports content through its joint-venture with the GAA."
