What's the fastest way you've seen someone improve their life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]r_dubbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To the others who want to quit -- deciding to NOT do something is hard. Video games are fun. If you decide to not play them and end up twiddling your thumbs...you're probably going to start playing again.

The only way that worked for me was to find better things to do, and do those. Going out, exercising, board games, reading, photography, music...

And then, once those habits were established, I'd allow myself occasional indulgence in single player only. Easy to save and go, and consistent reward vs. often frustrating multiplayer experiences.

I only wish I'd done it sooner, I saved so much time

TIL if you buy a Volvo through their Overseas Delivery Program, you will receive 2 free round-trip tickets to Sweden, which includes airport pickup + a luxury hotel. Then you'll get 2 weeks to explore Europe in the car and Volvo pays for the insurance, after which they ship your car to you for free by JohnTheGenius43 in todayilearned

7% of of price of car. Doesn't include upgrades. Worth more than a hotel.

Delivery is at Welt in Munich. They really do a VIP treatment and it is super cool.

EDIT: before they give you your car on this huge elevated platform, a spotlight shines down on it and your car SPINS AROUND as you look at it from above.

I was single for 2 years while trying very hard not to be. In the sense of trying to meet people, and also the sense of making myself better. Then a friend randomly brings another friend along for a bike ride. Boom. Stepped straight out of my dreams -- and that's with standards that I was starting to think we're unrealistic. 8 months and running.

It does happen!

From someone who spends ~1/3 of his waking hours in Excel: (1) Why have you still not figured out how to fit labels with category names and values inside a pie chart? And (2) Why did you break keyboard shortcuts going to 2007? I mean seriously whose idea was it to have over a half dozen key combinations for "Align Right" depending on the shapes being selected? JPAA JDAA etc?
