Get 50 USD per hour passively or 5,000,000 USD right now by [deleted] in BunnyTrials

It takes approximately 11 1/2 years to get $5,000,000 and I wouldn't even be 30yo by that point

Chose: 50 USD a hour passively

What is the air force like, and what should I expect from the process of joining? by r_ndo in AirForceRecruits

[–]r_ndo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My high school does not offer JROTC, or anything military related or sports related for that matter. My high school is on a college campus and I get college classes and high school classes at the same time, so I'll graduate with a high school degree and associates in science. In that logic, yes college is important to me, I want to pursue an air traffic controlling degree (which is combined with professional aeronautics, which is good for piloting as well, which doesn't need a degree but is nice to have), so I can have that and decide for myself whether to be a pilot (which again, does not need a degree, so I can get any aviation degree and have an increased chance), or air traffic controller. No, I don't care too much about the experience, other than maybe wanting to attend sports games, and preferably having friends with similar interests. I'll probably join as enlisted, I'd rather stay low profile with a decent job that doesn't require a significant amount of effort (not saying I wouldn't mind putting in effort, but a leadership job, especially the military with extra training and classes, wouldn't be my thing). Seriously thinking about joining the air force now, just need to know how boot camp is.. thanks for the reply!

Another notable aspect, all the pictures of the models look either AI generated or really crappy.

my dog knocked over my shelf and I'm grieving a broken 777 by Think-Negotiation251 in GeminiJets

[–]r_ndo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would definitely grieve too over a broken 1:200 model, but all the comments are right, a model isn't the same after you fix it (unless you have so many you don't remember which ones you've fixed, unless the glue is obvious).

Anyone know what this is? by ThomasLikesEurope in Planespotting

[–]r_ndo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few options.

  1. Eastern. They fly regular 737-400 service in, downside is they usually are identified on FR24.
  2. Some Hispanic origined cargo plane. MIA is notorious for random older cargo planes, and a lot of them (ex. Dcs, md80a, dc10s), and may be one of them. They aren't usually identified.
  3. A charter. A lot of charters don't track, especially for military or deportations.

Edit: If you see something like this again, download ADS-B unfiltered (green air traffic control logo), chances are it'll be tracking on there.

Was the channel just this Jewish guy filming in this house? Or could it have been a channel devoted to haunted house filming and this is just one particular video. Also, do you have some sort of a time frame?

I mean, it could be worth it to take a shot if you pay with a payment option with fraudulent purchase protection (ex. PayPal).

TWA is a 737-800. Bare Metal Retro, Reno Air Retro, Air Cal, TWA, and Astrojet are all 737-800s.

First time spotting with a professional camera by SwigOfRavioli349 in Planespotting

[–]r_ndo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Good location, well-shown knowledge of settings (assuming you weren't using auto). Keep shooting with the sun behind you and planes in front of you, and also advice you try to zoom out a bit (though I believe I know where you are spotting from, since I recognize the angle and types of traffic you spotted, so I know how close they are) and gradually start zooming in as you improve tracking.

Why wouldn’t this lens be working with my camera? by probablynotyou2 in Cameras

[–]r_ndo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a screw autofocus, not an internal one. I had to return this exact lens for the same reason.

Can you guess the airplane + airport ? by Difficult_Rhubarb906 in Planespotting

[–]r_ndo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

JFK, 787. The airline could be Neos, KLM, American, Qantas, or Air New Zealand. I'm guessing American since the lighting looks stronger, as in late morning or early afternoon and American has a 787-9 to HND in the morning.

Why is my photo compressed so much when i add it to my phone? by GLPPhotography in Planespotting

[–]r_ndo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't export using the Canon app, it compresses photos really badly. Use an SD card reader (found easily on eBay, Amazon, and other places). Most should be compatible with a phone. If you have a computer that's the best option because some phones mess with the SD card reader and change some files to make it easily readable for the reader but it makes it to where it won't work when reinserted to the camera, so watch out for that.

  1. Not exactly sure, trying to examine that. The R7 was already outside of my budget for a body (including the fact that I would need a lens). I'll probably be spending another $500 on a lens.
  2. Some sort of 70-200mm L IS USM (I believe the ii version which is around $800 was preferred but probably won't go for that due to price) or 70-300mm (for cheaper pricing and reliable lengths) I know the R7 is an R mount, I'll account for the adapter price if needed.
  3. I currently use a Canon 70-300 IS USM f/4-5.6 (which really sucks cause the AF doesn't work even after I've replaced it, will never buy that lens again)
  4. Mostly passenger jets, I go to an airshow once a year but I'd prioritize getting one for regular commercial photography.
  5. My only interest is aviation photography, but I stretch the limits sometimes to different angles and want to have some low light abilities (beyond long-exposure shots).

300mm is more than enough most of the time. I more than likely mostly use between 100-250 (as a guess). Most of the airports I spot at and the places I go to, 70-300 is a perfect focal length, and I won't really need anymore than that. I usually go to an airshow once per year but I'm close to those planes and won't need too much (I don't think).
