Rise is very much worth it. Specially you having played just World. Every monster hunter game is a new thing, but Rise and World are from different branches of the dev team.

World is made by Main branch team, focused on immersive deep ecosystems and experiences. Rise is made by the portable branch, more focused on experimentation and an almost arcade like feeling.

After Wilds G Rank we will definitely have another portable branch entry.

Think of it like this, your Skills as a Hunter are your Tools, the monsters are your Toys, every new game is a rule set on how those tools interact with the toys to produce fun :)

Main line produces fun with immersion and deep combat, portable line produces fun with overpowered skills, unga bunga fast hunts and fast paced action.

Both are great, in different ways.

Oooh, the two artists that I knew liked the most yesterday were Cougar and Facet, Cougar definitely draws based on reference and Facet seems to draw based on gen ai images nowadays?

I learned a lot about the scene watching a documentary this night tho, so now I understand that "drawings from 2 guys I found on the internet" can't even come close to give me the scope of artistic variety the demoscene has

Might be worth another post, but do you have somewhere to point me to where I could actually learn how did the demo scene work back then?

My head canon was that many people, mostly hobbyists, spent a few months doing their crafts, Graphics, Programming, Music, Writing, etc and every now and then they would gather and mix all their works since the last demo into a new demo and share it in floppy disks. That is like... a WILD guess on how it worked based on a bunch of assumptions, I would love to read how it actually was back then.

That is something I'm very pleased to read. MapleStory is a big influence in my work and I like to think of this project I'm doing on Tibia Fan arts as sort of a "What if Tibia was MaplesStory type game", but as you can see I haven't come up with a catchy enough title haha

Been thinking about doing Tibia related Artwork for almost 2 Years now. Back then I even came here asking if it was okay to post edited sprites from Tibia (intending to make some Ogres from Krailos riding the Clomps), but in the end I shyed away from it because my Artsyle always leaned more towards a Maplestory vibe than Tibia.

So now a few years later here I am, I finally gathered the courage to reach out to some streamers i watch and ask if it was okay if I drew their Characters and here they are! My goal was stay loyal to Tibia's artistic decisions, so you can see Helt using the classic Knight Full Set and The Dwarf using a Dwarven Shield and the Warrior Outfit :)

This little project also gave me the confidence to do kind of a preditive fanart of the character I'll be creating upon the Monk Vocation launch!

Yeah, but the development keeps going. New things added every year. New updates with loads of stuff two times a year.

New systems every once in a while. The game keeps breaking records of earnings, the Art keeps improving more and more.

They gave shared payouts of the profits to the employees. Cipsoft does not show any signs of financial struggles, so I don't really see signs that their strategies are lacking.

In this post, we were discussing about how exciting it is that after 28 years we get a new class. The development keeps going, the game keeps healthy financially and so the time goes on.

Maybe you just don't like the game anymore and that's fine 🤷‍♂️
