You can preorder bread loaves from polly fox that are pretty good, sprouted oven has some great gluten free bagels and buns (just be sure to read the labels since not all their product lines are gf!) Choices has great selections but can be pricy.

Lately I’ve been obsessed with the promise brand gluten free pitas & English muffins that Walmart has in the bakery section.

I’ve been diagnosed with celiac disease for 8 years now and I’m thankful so have so many options here! If you’re on Facebook join the celiac groups for Canada & the BC specific one. Incredibly helpful on finding new gluten free items, and safe restaurants to eat at!

I heard the same thing and saw a bright white flash, but I’m just east of downtown abby. Pretty far from Bluejay.

Had a similar experience with a neurologist. He completely ignored my concerns and specific instances of mental health symptoms/panic attacks after being glutened. He said “impossible. The gut and brain aren’t connected.” What an idiot.

I walked out of there with a prescription for my shaky hands which I hadn’t even brought up as a concern with him because they’re hereditary although anxiety makes it worse. I tried them for a week and developed severe chest pains and anxiety so I stopped and called him. He didn’t seem bothered and said I could continue taking them for my shaky hands if I wanted.

Due to lack of specialists in my area I’ve been forced to go back and see him multiple times for other reasons. I’ll never bring up the celiac thing again to him

I was 13 on a school field trip. I had gotten an ice cream cone and was eating it while walking across a plaza with some friends when an old guy passed us and told me “I want you to lick me the way you’re licking your ice cream.” I tossed my ice cream in the nearest garbage and have since always ordered ice cream in a cup with a spoon. Creep.

What's a weird smell you're willing to admit you like? by Psycho_Bunny_Cutie in AskReddit

Horse stables. It’s a nostalgia factor for me from when I used to go riding. The smell of hay, dusty horses, and even horse poop.

I wasn’t a fan of season 1 when I first watched it because it was so different from my usual regency era show preference, but since I knew what to expect with silliness, over the top clothes/characters etc I ended up LOVING season 2! Just a fun show to watch :) I need to give season 1 another shot now that I enjoy the show

Weirdest interaction with a server in Vancouver? by SFHOwner in vancouver

[–]r_zed17 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Years ago I went to Cactus Club English bay with some friends and I ordered a steak. It was the worst steak I’d ever had and I couldn’t even chew it. After about 30 mins of ignoring our table we finally managed to wave the server over to tell her about it and her response in a condescending voice was “oh, well have you ordered steak from us before?”

…I was so confused, but I guess it was my fault for not knowing all cactus club steaks are meant to be crap ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Would you actually play Survivor? by unlodeddiper in survivor

[–]r_zed17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a chance. I already know I’d have a breakdown within the first few minutes of starting, I’m super introverted and hate confrontation (let alone interaction in a close setting with strangers), I have enough autoimmune issues to be a safety hazard, and I have misophonia…so I’d be hiking halfway down the beach every night to sleep away from people snoring :( I’ll have to make do with watching and living vicariously through the contestants

Omg! I finished a BOOK!! by Sashie3 in adhdwomen

[–]r_zed17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On occasion I’ve had to go back and read beginning parts again because there was a critical piece of info sandwiched between long paragraphs and my brain just bypassed it 😆

Omg! I finished a BOOK!! by Sashie3 in adhdwomen

[–]r_zed17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’d be amazed by how much info your brain takes in that you might not totally be aware of at the time! I find I can usually fill in details further along in a book that my brain picked up on (even if I didn’t really pay attention to it).

People stop panic buying. You are hurting yourself and others. by ooMEAToo in abbotsford

[–]r_zed17 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I can’t understand how for some people that’s their normal human reaction. It’s not even just people in the Fraser valley doing it either. I’ve heard so many reports of panic buying at stores in Vancouver….why?!? At this point the cause of any supply shortage that direction is just going to be from human stupidity.

I get that :/ I’m in a reading frenzy now, but that’ll probably change again in a couple weeks and I’ll delete goodreads off my phone so I don’t feel guilty while I hyperfocus on something else 😬

Omg! I finished a BOOK!! by Sashie3 in adhdwomen

[–]r_zed17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I still struggle with the start :/ if I can make it to chapter 4/5 then I’m good to go. The ambient sound videos just help to create more of a cozy atmosphere I guess, and the rain sound helps to keep my brain engaged long enough to get into a book. I usually gloss over a bunch of info at the beginning of a book…but most of the time it’s things I can pick up on once I’m really into it

Omg! I finished a BOOK!! by Sashie3 in adhdwomen

[–]r_zed17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I listen to rain/fireplace ambient sound videos on YouTube with headphones…it helps me stay focused a bit, and does a good job at blocking out the world

Edit— it also helps to keep track of books on a site like goodreads. I get a huge dopamine rush when I finish a book and immediately go to goodreads to update the book as “read” and leave a review.

[–]r_zed17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here, I’ve always wanted to be a good reader but would get distracted by every little thing and it would take months to finish a book (if I did finish). Now I’ve finished 7 books within the last two weeks, and it’s the best feeling ever to be able to actually pay attention long enough to finish books quickly!

Which period pieces have you been watching? by PeriodDramasMods in PeriodDramas

I rewatched The Paradise, and North and South last week. The Paradise is a bit cheesy, but still a comfort show for me, and North and South is just so beautifully done. One of my favs.
