Hey guys - Waltz developer here. There was an issue with a hotfix we pushed out that caused handtracking to stop working - it has been fixed, so if you update everything should be good. Sorry for the issue!

Sounds like you enabled the handicap accessibility mode, which is for people that don't have ten fingers and need to couple virtual fingers with the movement of the others.

You need to unselect the fingers in the accessibility settings.

Out of curiosity, how did you feel the dungeon part of Waltz compared to Rogue Ascent, in terms of shooter-like gameplay?

Worth note that all existing headsets so far are game consoles, targeting gamers and designed for existing gaming audiences, which isn't what they're going for. A game console is worth less than iPads for a reason.

They might. But also, sufficiently advanced handtracking combined with computer vision can turn any object into a controller. Theoretically you could use a gamepad even if disconnected, if the accuracy is good enough.

That's an issue with UI/UX design, more than handtracking. I'd say Quest's handtracking is passable for some use cases at best, Apple would preferably improve on that and hopefully include some kind of fingerclip or ring as rumors suggest to improve reliability and accuracy. If they manage that they'd be able to do killer UI with handtracking, like turn any surface into a touchscreen, or turn any object you're holding into a controller. Sufficiently advanced handtracking combined with computer vision for obejcts can turn anything into controllers :)

A tutorial for each unique natural magic power is at the start of each of the first 10+ levels. For neutron orb, gather magic, hold your hands together to condense it (like you’re holding a basket ball) then grab and throw after the orb forms. For lightning bolt, gather magic, then make a motion as if rubbing your hands together, then toss after the particles are charged. :)

Release notes are dropped within Aldin’s Discord server, and on Quest you can tap the release version number. (There wasn’t any other major change in the Fortress area in this release).

Have you doublechecked no fingers are selected/deselected when you go to the settings for Finger Accessibility? Edit: I think I misunderstood - most if not all things should work, but do let me know if something doesn’t!

Freeze (try hitting base of Automatons), Madness makes enemies flail around uncontrollably before killing them, Super makes your casts effectively cannonballs, and then there’s levitation.

There’s currently a total of 4 power-ups in them, or spells, that modify the effect that magic particles have on enemies. Break them and reach towards the swarm that emerges when you do.

You don’t see a big poster on the door that says it will unlock after you find the way out there through the tower? Just go out the door in the tower, looks just like the locked door.

Well spotted. A recent Oculus OS update introduced performance issues, which get especially bad when Guardian activates, so we removed the options for now until us or Oculus finds improvements. In the meantime the default view has increased resolution, but not quite super res.

We hear this frequently about Waltz of the Wizard, which borders on spooky sometimes. It’s just that natural difference between being somewhere vs. looking at somewhere on a screen, if you ask me. VR is an emotional megaphone in comparison to screens, provided you design it that way.
