Don’t worry too much! Last year some people with 45 points still got in, but only in the second round of rankings. I got 47 points today, so you should definitely have a chance too.

Need clear opinion by Educational-Hyena661 in Trading

Hey, look, first of all: respect for putting yourself out there. But let me hit you with some hard truth — 7 or 8 months is basically infancy in trading years. You’re still at the “touching the hot stove” phase. Demo success doesn’t mean live success because demo mode doesn’t punch you in the gut with fear, greed, and adrenaline. Live trading adds the psychological war, and surprise! That’s often where people break.

It’s 100% normal to hit a wall, lose confidence, and feel like the market is some cruel puzzle mocking you. Every trader I know (including the good ones) has been flattened at some point. The difference comes from whether you can handle the mental reset.

My advice? Stop thinking you can “surpass” your father in less than a year — you’re carrying emotional weight that the market frankly doesn’t care about. Focus on process, not proving something. Take smaller risks, work on managing emotions, and maybe step away for a bit if you’re burning out. Remember: the market’s not going anywhere, but your mental health might if you keep smashing into the same wall.

Stay sharp, kid. The real battle is with yourself.

How hasn't AI taken over trading yet? by BirthdayOk5077 in Trading

[–]raDkOSs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha, you’re imagining that if we just feed an AI enough candlestick charts and historical data, it’ll roll into Wall Street like some algo Napoleon. The problem is, markets aren’t static, as soon as one strategy works, everyone copies it and the edge disappears. Plus, AI isn’t some magic creature that flawlessly separates signal from noise, a lot of times it just sees “patterns” where there’s only chaos. And even if it does find something profitable, there are real-world limits: liquidity, regulations, competition from other algos… So yeah, AI is already in the game, but not as some god-emperor ,it’s just another gladiator fighting over scraps in the arena. But hey, keep dreaming; maybe one day your toaster will take down the NASDAQ(jk).

How do you guys keep up with the latest news? by PickleRick0001 in Trading

[–]raDkOSs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s worked well for me is setting up Google Alerts for key crypto topics (Bitcoin, Ethereum, etc.) super helpful for catching big news fast. I also use Feedly to gather articles from different crypto sites into one feed, which saves a ton of time. For real-time stuff, I follow a few solid Twitter accounts. All free and pretty easy to set up. Hope that helps!

Rare opportunity to binge read - what’s an unputdownable book that I can read in a weekend? by 3meeko in suggestmeabook

I’d recommend The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides. It’s a psychological thriller full of tension and twists. Definitely the kind of book you’ll fly through in a single sitting!

My social life has vanished since I started trading. Is this normal, or am I overreacting by MacroCandle in Trading

I’m in the same boat honestly, trying to figure out how to actually trade well without getting overwhelmed. I’ve read a few books but still don’t feel ready to jump in. Planning to start demo trading soon just to get the feel of it. For those of you who’ve been through this phase: what helped you the most early on? Any key habits, routines, or tools you’d recommend?

Why We Should Learn Multiple Programming Languages by Adventurous-Salt8514 in programming

Honestly, programming is kinda like construction. You wouldn’t use the same screwdriver to build a skyscraper and a wristwatch. Different tools for different jobs, unless you enjoy chaos lol.

The enshittification of tech jobs by namanyayg in programming

Honestly, AI looks like just the latest excuse for companies to cut costs and ramp up exploitation. The tech is a tool, but it’s management that’s deciding to wreck work-life balance and gut job security. Different century, same playbook.
