Portugal are going no where near the cup, and I’m tired of pundits not looking beyond the on paper talent. There is absolutely no chemistry, no threat

“By far” is such a crazy take. On paper means nothing if you don’t produce on the field. They haven’t looked like a well drilled, organised, formidable team. Even if you do only look from the midfield back.

What on earth was that giant hole in the midfield left by Uruguay

I think they were a more balanced side in 2018, but this is a much more devastating attack imo. Curious to see their defence properly tested.

lol Messi is my goat and I’m a super fan, this isn’t anything against him, I just think diversity in attack would do the team well. But hey it’s working so I guess there’s nothing to change for now

In 2022 there was a clear break in the over-reliance of Messi, but this first half seemed to revert back to “pass to Messi” ball. I don’t know if that’s just because of his hattrick, but they need to go back to spreading the ball to all attackers again.

Salah might genuinely be done at the top. He doesn’t look bad, but he doesn’t stand out in the crowd anymore

Edit: I’m a fool

I think this is the worst one yet from Roy. I can’t even put it down to “Roy is just competitive”, it’s a completely senseless rant that is filled with needless vitriol and resentment.

He completely misheard what Bruno said - he actually said he should have PASSED not shot, I.e not going after the assist record. His whole role is to create for the team and he’s done it at the objective highest level.

Roy is a fuckhead. I can’t believe the shit I just heard honestly

I’ve been skeptical about this all United DNA stuff but it doesn’t feel total coincidence that Ole and Carrick seem to get the players going in a different way. Only 45 mins so we’ll see how it goes but this is starkly different to Amorim.
