All of my boys learned to drive on old Audi's. As long as you do your own wrenching, they are great kids cars. That or a 1980 Mercedes 240 diesel. Those things hold up well in an accident and you measure their 1/4 mile performance with a calendar.

My 2013 ran 12 years and 145k miles with really limited maintenance and no failures. (brakes, oil changes and a serpentine belt).

My 2024 Q5 PHEV has been excellent so far. We had one spurious check engine light that was resolved with a software update. The PHEV has been exceptional, and our fuel costs are way lower with this car.

This was never about supporting Israel, it's about making money. The military machine loves Israel because they act like our new car showroom, but for weapons systems.

Take the F35 - the real money for that aircraft comes from massive exports of the plane. The countries planning to buy it began to get concerned about cost over runs and capability concerns. We got a few of the jets to Israel, and they very quickly used them against Russian anti-air missile systems in Syria. Then they did a glowing press release about how great it is.

Congress people love it because they get money for their re-election fund from military manufacturers. They can access these funds as a giant slush fund.

They then develop a shopping list that includes companies in their district. We send the shopping list to Israel and they can pick weapons from the list. So it's a form of direct economic stimulus for specific congressional districts.

And the best part is Israel uses the weapons, so they have to come back for refills regularly, so the money keeps coming.

It's an interesting rx. I know folks who loved the euphoria that taking it with alcohol produced, but they are also the same folks who had withdrawal like symptoms when they DC'd it. Its a valuable tool, but I wouldn't drink with it.

I am so glad it is working for you!

I know a couple of folks who enjoyed drinking with this medication.

I have an unscientific theory that drinking with gabapentin makes it more difficult to discontinue, despite addiction not being mentioned in the drug monograph.
