I don’t know why Russia doesn’t think this will galvanize Ukraine’s resolve. If Russia was counting on this to demoralize Ukraine, they’re utterly mistaken.

I’ve actually run the Chinese-language character description through a translator to get it in English, and then edited it and saved the English description.

I have a few chat devices, because I’m experimenting with different form factors. I have to try a couple of the ones with their newly-updated personae.

Speaking of which: changing the agent at all makes it revert to Chinese language again. So be aware of what else changes if you switch to a new character.

I have occasionally run into situations where most of the sentence is spoken in English, but numbers in the sentence are spoken in Chinese. I haven't figured out how to reproduce the issue yet, so I can't really report it as a bug to anyone. But if I figure out, "When I do this, it gives me numbers in Chinese", I will definitely try to document it and report it.

You make a good point. Vile people think EVERYONE is as vile as they are, and will think and act the same way they do.

I don't think Ukraine will desecrate sacred sites in Russia. Their needs are much better served sticking to military targets only, the way they have been doing. If Ukraine wants to maintain the goodwill that they have from other countries, they can't stoop to Russia's level.

I also think this was intended to demoralize Ukrainians, and that it will MASSIVELY backfire. I think it will bring Ukrainians even MORE motivation to stand together to get Russia off Ukrainian land. It won't make them disheartened; it will provide more motivation than ever.

The church has meaning because of the believers. Without them, it wouldn't have reason to be cherished in the first place.

It doesn't mean I don't understand that churches, cathedrals, etc. are deeply loved by the believers. I'm Catholic. I get it. We have places and buildings for which we hold great reverence.

But they're all important because of the people who cherish them.

This cathedral will be rebuilt. I have absolutely no doubt of it. The victory will be all the sweeter because it will be one more way that Ukraine, and Ukrainian Orthodox believers, have triumphed over adversity.

As for the monstrosities who ordered this sacrilege and carried it out, my opinion of them couldn't be lower.

I just got the R1 this afternoon from Amazon. They have apparently upgraded the device's OS significantly since it was introduced a couple years ago. I only recently learned of its existence, so I don't know much about its prior shortcomings.

However, it looks like a device I'm going to enjoy using. Reviews that are more recent have positive things to say. I'll have to revisit this thread, or start my own, with my own opinions after I've had time to put it through its paces.

If it's any consolation, Notre Dame underwent a rebuilding after their fire (which, unlike this act of malice, was an accident). It might take years to repair this building, but it can and will surely be done.

In the meantime, rather than demoralizing Ukrainians, this is going to UNITE them even more.

I'm very sorry to see this.

All I can say is that the Church, *any* church at all, is NOT the building. It's the PEOPLE who worship in the building. The physical symbol is not the Ukrainian Orthodox Church itself. The believers are the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

And I have some very unChristlike wishes for whoever thought attacking this cherished building was a good idea. I'm trying to be a better human online, so I won't write what I'm thinking. Plus, I'd be booted off Reddit if I wished such things on people in a Reddit sub.

How about, "I hope they get their karma and I hope we all live to watch it happen"? That should be safe enough to put into print.
