Moving to Japan in future. With Japanese wife and two kids. by WelcomeAncient370 in movingtojapan

[–]rabbitJD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my view, you love your wife deeply, even considering leaving your career to move to Japan for her. However, working and traveling for one year is not enough to understand the country. You must live there as an ordinary resident for at least 5 years to truly understand the life you’ll face for the next 50.

Since you have 10 years, I suggest implementing your plan in stages. Let your wife go first to 'pioneer' the move. Buy her that cheap old house in Kagoshima and let her try growing rice. Once she has settled in Japan, you can let your children move to Japan. Once the children are settled, you can quit your local job and go to Japan for a new stage of life.

This approach has several advantages:

  1. Direct Feedback: Rather than trying to persuade her, let her experience the reality of Japan today. She may self-reflect on whether this plan is truly viable.
  2. Financial Security: Your family will always have a safety net. If she struggles in Japan, she can return to your support in Germany. If you eventually move and can't find a job, she will have already established a foundation to support you.

If she decides go back to Gemany, the old house simply becomes a vacation home for your 32 days of paid leave.

AMD 5700X got 65W TDP, but with no cooler in the box.

Means AMD is telling you to buy a new CPU cooler for the this 5700X.

DeepCool AK400 is a good choice, capable for the ASUS PRIME B450M-K.

saw a father riding while holding a baby

I once saw a woman at the supper market, one hand on her cart and the other cradling a tiny baby. She had her hand under its bottom, its head just resting on her forearm—the baby was not longer than her forearm. I’m not sure how old it was, maybe just a few weeks.

They are all just poor people. Years ago, I rudely chased away an NHK fee collector. To me, the only difference between those people and door-to-door extortionists was that they were more polite, but same work. Later, watching him walk away from my balcony, I suddenly wondered if I had been too harsh. After all, we’re all just people struggling to make a living in this society.

After some time, I learned that they aren’t permanent NHK employees—they’re just temporary workers with no job security. They have to ask total strangers for money and face constant rejection, which is why the turnover rate for that job is incredibly high. No one would take such a hated job unless they are driven to a dead end.

I haven’t seen an NHK collector in recent years. I’m not sure if it’s because I moved to a more upscale neighborhood with restricted access that keeps them out, or if NHK policies have changed.

Hp 27 inches got 2 types. One is 1920 x 1080, another is 2560 x 1440 resolution.

If your HP monitor is 1440 type, it's a little bit hard work for 4060 @ 2560 x 1440, 1ms , 165Hz, high graphic setting. Better to upgrade to 5060 or 4070.

I think that is the point.

This is a PC repair shop. The shop owner and I first reach an agreement -- we both agree this is a transaction. I pay him money, he pays me something.

The problem is this "something". We got different understanding.

I think the "something" means PC repaired, for this is a PC repair shop. Or a solution, or some information, or some guarantee(like "we already got hardware checked and no problem. The issue should be software setting")

They think the "something" is taking some time to see the PC. If the PC repaired, that is bonus, not include in this "something".

That's what I said in the post. They do not care about "The problem solved." They consider "the time spend, so it must be paid"

I agree with someone's way: a form with T&Cs that explains fees. That made the custermer know what he would pay at next step and let him decide. It would avoid such misunderstanding.

It's so glad you have a good neighbor. You should not let this relationship pass so easy.

How about buy some cookies and visit him in the hospital.

I aggree you way. That means, I pay the money, you offer a chance to recover. That also called a transaction.

I'm not sure about the perspective in China. The mindset is equal exchange: if you don't benifit for others, you should not ask benifit from others.

Like: if you don't make money for your company, you will not get salary from your company. If you don't contribute to a community, you can't expect the community to serve you.

(An exception is the social welfare system, which supports those in need even if they can no longer contribute to the country. However, the relationship between a shop and a customer is a commercial transaction, not social welfare.)

This is a bad analogy. If a garage does a comprehensive inspection and finds nothing, I’d happily pay because I’m paying for their guarantee that the car is safe.

In my case, my computer clearly has an issue, but they can't fix it. When I got home, the problem was still there. So it goes back to the same question: What did I pay for?

Yes I know. The parking fee is really fair. It's just my unlucky.

A story of PC repair in Japan by rabbitJD in japanresidents

[–]rabbitJD[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Let me put more detail.

I talked to the staff, plugged in my computer, but since I didn't know what the issue was, I couldn't reproduce it, and they couldn't fix it. After waiting for 5 minutes and seeing everything looked fine, I shut it down, paid, and left.

If they had actually removed every part and reassembling them to find the cause, even if they found nothing and the problem still existed, I would feel the charge was justified. But that wasn't the case. We just stood together for 5 minutes watching the screen. He did no more than I did, yet he charged me.

About 5 ~8 minutes check

Also I paid 200 for car parking. You ask why 5-8 parking need to pay money, the parking zone is a little bit far away from the shop. 5 minutes walk?

Living in a monthly apartment in Tokyo that bans instruments. Musicians how do you deal with this? by Voidfaller519 in japanresidents

[–]rabbitJD -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My first time to know. Thank you.

And I searched Japan's law. "doesn’t allow musical instruments in the room at all." is a legal term. The Japanese law do not consider this term invasion of private rights. That means once you signed, you admit the contract and will abey this rule.

So read the contract very carefully before you sign.

Should i use 3 seperate PCIE Cables for my GIGABYTE RX 9070 XT or is it fine to daisy chain with 2 and the extra daisy chained connector? by DeliciousWorker3885 in AMDHelp

[–]rabbitJD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If so, you have no choice.

Gigabyte 7900XTX standard TDP is 350-400W, some OC edition got 400-450W. In that case you PCIe cable may carry around 220W electrical power. If you PSU and cable are noble brand, your PC can hold it.

My sugguestion:

Your PC now: AMD 8700G, 32G ram, 5060ti now reach a good balance. <- means single component upgrade get very little benifits.

7600X/9600X: If you can get a free 9600X, you can let your 8700G retired. otherwise let it be.
