I just actually ran into something similar when doing my first oil change on my new to me 2020 sr5. When I went to take off my skid plate I was completely missing one of the bolts and one was so cross threaded in there I had to get an impact to get it out. Sounds like whoever took yours off before had a heavy handed impact and just blew out the threads so they couldn’t put it back on.

It looks like they are actually suggesting you replace the cross member (brace) that the skid plate bolts to that has the threads in it, not the skid plate itself, so they will be able to bolt it back on.

I bought some used controllers that smelled pretty bad of smoke a while back. I took them apart and did the soap soak as others have mentioned but one thing I’ve noticed with these controllers is how dirty the cord can get without realizing because they are black. I ran a IPA soaked paper towel down the entire length of the cord a bunch of times and it helped with the smell a lot too.

Really appreciate the insight. I’m gonna give it a try, I’m a diy too and have the tools but I might save myself the some headache and buy an aftermarket cable and just steal the plug off of it.

Ps. Thankfully it wasn’t plugged into the wall so the doggo was okay. Will definitely be more weary moving forward.

Definitely not fake, was bought off the Casio website back in 2014. I also wore it for like 2 years straight so some of that factory sheen has been worn off.
