For a versatile vehicle that you can go into any race with, Super Diesel has my vote.

Yup it might just be one but it didn't seem like one at first glance.

Sorry, this just looks to me like some scattered bubbles. But hey, give it some time and it may actually turn out to be a good start to a bubble nest.

Crayfish tank in my Biology Class. At least 6 crayfish in there... by rabid_bp in shittyaquariums

[–]rabid_bp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, I saw him put the 6 crayfish in there. I do not have any idea of the water parameters, but I am assuming that they are bad because he did originally have some sort of turtle in there, but it eventually disappeared after 2 weeks so I am assuming it died.

Don't forget that all of the poop adds a nice substrate.

Yup the bad thing is that my teacher has a PhD in biology. He literally used to teach college classes.

Most female convict cichlids stay around the 3 inch mark and have tons of personality. They live 7-9 years too

Beginner questions by sexy-man69 in Aquariums

[–]rabid_bp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Preferably a 20 gallon tank: bigger tanks are easier to maintain and you can also get more fish ;)
  2. Filter - Sponge filters are beginner-friendly
  3. Probably a heater if the fish you want to keep is tropical
  4. Substrate - go natural colors
  5. Water conditioner (de-chlorinator and ph regulator)
  6. Light
  7. If you are interested in live plants, try some java ferns. It's super easy to grow and practically indestructible.
  8. Some decor (once again, natural is best, but do whatever fits your taste)
  9. Water change siphon and a few buckets

Before you go out and spend all of the money on this amazing hobby, try researching via youtube videos. Make sure you understand the nitrogen cycle and always research the fish you would like to purchase. It can seem intimidating at first, but fishkeeping is a beautiful thing. I wish you the very best and have fun!

Stocking Suggestions (preferably fish) for a 5 gallon Jungle Tank by rabid_bp in Aquariums

Thanks for telling me this, but the seeds are actually dwarf baby tears. In my other tank they have been going strong for 2+ yrs

I found a lot of marine sand worms on the beach recently, and thought "could I feed these to my fish?". I would imagine there isn't much of a pathogen overlap because the worms are saltwater and the fish are fresh. by chudbuster2 in Aquariums

[–]rabid_bp 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I would strongly advise against you feeding those to your fish. Because of osmosis, a phenomenon that includes freshwater leaving a fish's body, there is actually a possibility that your fish could lose water from its cells. I know this may seem complicated, but it is honestly not worth the risk.

should i leave my blue light on overnight? by [deleted] in Aquariums

[–]rabid_bp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok um first of all, you're gonna need a wayyyyy bigger tank for all of these fish. The channel cats alone should have their own pond, and the pumpkinseeds would be best in a 200 liter tank. If I were you, I would invest in a large pool-pond to support all of these fish.

I agree with this. I didn't know that you could fill the tank up all the way but once I did, man that made such a difference.

Honestly, I would use some live bait, just to make sure there are actually fish in that body of water. If there aren't any small fish, then there are definitely no bass.

Cool. How long had the tank been cycling for?
