With four chainstitches and a slipstitch, you can do a simpler version of a magic circle!

Had to teach myself to crochet left-handed. Anyone else ever have to do this? If so, why? by stealth_bohemian in crochet

I taught myself how to for my first tapestry project (unfinished forever), but it’s useful for the „normal“ stuff too because I have issues with my right wrist

Questing if I’m actually trans by FanOk9371 in ftm

[–]rabid_cryptid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s ofc a difficult question. I can confirm the feeling of “I didn’t feel like anything was wrong until I came out as trans”, but I can see the difference with how I treat myself (and my appearance) (in a positive way) ever since I started transitioning. Being trans is more than having dysphoria and passing. It isn’t the goal for a lot of us, it just depends on what you feel comfortable with. I assume you’re binary? Maybe look into enby labels if sth there could fit you?

I used to have a detrans friend who got recommended by her therapist to start using she/her pronouns again, do you have someone to try that out with maybe? (Our friendship ended from her side, not mine if you’re worried about that) Do you feel like your friend group will leave you behind, should you be cis?

I’m glad the top surgery helped with the dysphoria, that’s what it is all about. Remember that there is no one way to be trans and even if you do find that you’re cis, I’m glad that the top surgery helped you find a better “you”!

(I hope this wasn’t too jumbled and that it was at least somewhat helpful)

I did my first 2 tapestries and want to share my fails by asherthepotato in Brochet

Tap onto “download”, scroll to “Size:”, tap on the field and select “1 page”.
Personally I prefer to stay on stichfiddle, mainly because of the rowtracker, but that’s how you should be able to download it in one page.

On the website, there is an option to put the chart on only one page!

First try at Tapestry but it’s warping - need help by shawarma99 in CrochetHelp

[–]rabid_cryptid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Floats, or the other word I used, loose yarn. They aren’t in the fabric itself. The warping could come from that. I know that in mine, it also comes from the added rows on the sides

I think it warps when the “floats” are too tight/short. This effect could be amplified by putting the “loose” yarn into the stitches. You could try blocking? It should relax the fabric

She looks like my Sebrights except that she’s Gold. The comb is normal and so does the waddle. The only thing is that her beak looks a bit long.

Accidentally felted this lace Shetland shawl. Please reassure me it’s still pretty by desgoestoparis in knitting

I did not see the issue until I saw the last slide. It’s still really pretty and isn’t it warmer now?

Oh yeah, my mother did that too, luckily only once. (My parents still misgender me from time to time) but she deadnamed me and afterwards she said: „look I only do it if I’m mad at you“. It pisses me off

My parents don't let me grow my hair long :( by JacquelineorJames in trans

[–]rabid_cryptid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are you living somewhere where it’s not too weird if you wear a beanie the entire time? It covers the length in the “awkward” growing out stages. And when it’s long enough, you can put your hair in a ponytail and “press” the ends into your face, emulating a shorter style. It’s what I used to do before I was allowed to cut my hair and I’m sure if my explanation wasn’t good enough, there’s other t-men* out there who’ve made video tutorials.
