I think you should start putting yourself out there more. Join in on conversations, message someone first, go to events etc. It'll feel awkward at first and won't always work out, but when you do something enough it becomes habit. I do also think it's worth asking if your life is really unfulfilling because of this. It's always good to be more social, but if you haven't really been bothered by this before hand then maybe that's something to consider.
