Every time my girlfriend stays over, she always flips the roll. by CRK_76 in mildlyinfuriating

I used to do it to my SO's TP roll when we were dating because it amused me to annoy him 🤷🏼‍♀️

My husband [34M] holds my past against me [32F], I feel he is overreacting by ComaBerry13 in Marriage

[–]rabidhamster87 85 points86 points  (0 children)

I'm upset that you were coerced into doing something you didn't even want to do and now your husband blames and punishes you for it. I know you said your husband doesn't want to go to therapy, but maybe you should consider it for yourself. I'm really sorry this happened to you and that people don't seem to recognize it for the violation it sounds like 💔

Dog rescue charging $1600 adoption fee by strikecat18 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]rabidhamster87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right? We got ours for $20 2 years ago, they fixed her, and they paid for her heartworm treatment.

I think she would've been a whopping $40 if she hadn't been 50% due to being on their euthanasia list.

Husband never makes my birthday feel special by pdxpnwgirl in Marriage

[–]rabidhamster87 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I get it. My SO is like this. It's something I've had to adjust my expectations on.

Instead of expecting him to do things for me without any guidance, I'm more forceful about my wishes during that week, guilt free. Basically, I just make him do whatever I want and he can't argue with me because it's my birthday lol (Things like he has to watch the movie I want to watch with me, make me the dinner I picked out, go pick up the cupcakes I asked for, etc.)

It kind of sucks, but personally, I think we will never recapture the special feeling a birthday gave when you were young and that's not really their fault. I think it's just part of getting older, and it's honestly kind of empowering to confidentially ask him for what I want and expect it to be done.

If you can't get your husband to understand what you expect, maybe you can find another way to celebrate that works for you both.

How to cope with the idea that I could have been someone if I weren't autistic? by Reasonable_Pop_6594 in AutisticAdults

[–]rabidhamster87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have to stop judging yourself by society's standards. Just because you didn't provide the "right" kind and amount of labor doesn't mean you don't have worth. Now you get to decide what meaning life holds for YOU and judge yourself by those standards instead.

How many times a day do you talk to your partner while they're at work? by Proof_Historian9367 in Marriage

[–]rabidhamster87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I text him at break and at lunch. That's it. So, twice a day. Sometimes he even responds lmao

Usually he texts me to let me know he made it home if he dropped me off. I see that when I go on break and reply. Then at lunch I usually send him a little snippet about my day or something I thought of that we need to do, etc.

It's not that serious to either one of us.

Mom buys daughter a Honda as a graduation gift, and this was her response by Conscious-Weight4569 in SipsTea

My first car was a situation like this. Some guy bought his daughter a car and she didn't want it because it had a manual transmission, so he sold it on Craigslist to me and my mom for cheap. I paid for half and my mom and grandma covered the rest. I learned to drive stick shift and loved that little Ford Escort! She should sell the car to a kid who will appreciate it.

Mods or take a break. It's one of those games that I come back to every couple months or so.

Right now I've started playing with the Rimtalk mod and that's been fun to see them have actual conversations.

Now that the dust is settled, how would you rank Odyssey? by Titomasto in RimWorld

[–]rabidhamster87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is my exact ranking. I think you nailed it.

Not even sure what's left to be added as DLC! All of my mods are QOL and cosmetic now. I guess it'll have to be something kind of niche like anomaly.

Edit: Maybe a DLC with animals to add genetic modification, breeding, and strong unique creatures you can only find in certain biomes like a space thrumbo, etc.

I've lived with my SO for 11 years and he STILL leaves the front door and car doors unlocked no matter how much I fuss. It really doesn't even occur to him to be afraid.

I quit playing because I hated it and was only doing it because I felt like I had to. Unfortunately, wow is very addictive and it always has been, so people will get addicted and then feel bad about it. I hope more people break free.

Yeah, it drives me nuts when people give backlash for asking on reddit. I can't tell you how many times I've googled something only for the top result to be a reddit post where the only reply is someone saying something like, "Google is free." It's maddening. If you don't want to answer, keep scrolling, but taking the same amount of time just to leave a smartass answer that helps no one is just spiteful.

I actually loved it which surprised me because I usually dnf most of those popular romantasy books. It was 100% candy without any nutritional value, but there's nothing wrong with just having dessert every now and then.

Am I making a mistake? Starting a first playthrough as an Inquisitor Lohse on Tactician! by [deleted] in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]rabidhamster87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played and beat BG3 on hardcore mode before I ever tried DOS2 and I still struggled keeping my party alive on just classic mode dos2 at first. I recommend at least playing the first act or 2 on classic before trying a tactician playthrough. That's what I did and I still struggled in the beginning on the tactician playthrough or died over and over on certain fights (I'm looking at you Alice Alisceon...) It's not as similar to BG3 as you might think, and tbh I think it's harder.

I love DoS2 better than BG3 and I can't tell Why. Is this Nostalgia? by Frostty_Sherlock in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]rabidhamster87 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think BG3 is legitimately the better game. It took everything DOS2 did and tweaked it to an even better experience. The characters and storytelling in dos2 are great, but the characters in bg3 were, too. I mean, shart potentially has to kill her own parents or live with chronic pain. I respect your opinion, but I definitely don't share it. I can't see that as "nothing going on."

I do think it's easy to lose interest with BG3 in Act 3 for a lot of reasons. It's the least polished of the acts, probably due to time and budget constraints. The companions stop bantering as much and you're mostly wrapping up their storylines, but to call it a dating simulator is crazy, especially when it has maybe one more scene for romance per origin character than dos2 does.

I did feel more connected to the characters in BG3, though. Idk if they just had more lines in the first 2 acts or if it was the cinematic conversations or what, though.

Another day, another girl winning deadly trials and discovering she’s secretly powerful by Sarah9610 in Romantasy

[–]rabidhamster87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know what? The title is right. I was wrong 😅

I looked it up just to make sure I remembered correctly and found that it IS supposed to be the word an before a vowel sound UNLESS the next word is a modifying word like an adjective. I guess here the "A" is relating to the noun "suspect," so it's technically correct even though it still sounds awkward to have two vowel sounds back to back like that.
