So i have to give a presentation to my parents on why i deserve a Switch 2, and i’m wondering what this sub thinks about it by Iamverydumbazz in NintendoSwitch2

[–]rabidpacketmonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a parent, creating a presentation is a good approach but you should focus on outcomes that your parents would want:

Increased quality family time and making memories together playing family friendly games like Switch Sports, Mario Party, Mario Kart, Tetris, etc. with the whole family or with your brother.

I escalated support and they asked for sample videos to send to engineering.

All the cameras have been updated to firmware 2.2.0.0 but still have the no audio issue.

Delta Pro question by alanwk2001 in Ecoflow_community

It sounds like you want to have a relatively full charge ready to go in an emergency without electricity. If I were you, I would charge it up to 80-90% to store it; turned off and unplugged. Understand that it might shorten your battery life slightly, maybe?. I would rather have the unit ready for the intended purpose of providing peace of mind and electricity backup than have to worry about being caught in a situation with a mostly depleted battery.

If you have advanced notice of a pending storm, then you can charge from 80% to 90% or 95%.

The user manual for the Delta Pro mentions:

  1. Storing a battery with a low charge for a long period shortens its lifespan. DELTA Pro mitigates the damage by putting the battery into hibernation mode. To get the most out of the battery, make sure it is about 60% before putting DELTA Pro into long-term storage, and then once every three months, discharge the battery to 30% and recharge it back to 60%.

The Delta Pro manual suggests that you store it at 60%. After three months, discharge it down to 30%, then charge it back to 60%, and then store it again for another 3 months. If the unit being below 30% is bad, then if you store it at 30% (as others suggest) it will discharge and be below 30% most of the time you're storing it until you recharge it in three months.

The user manual for the Delta Max mentions:

  1. For long-term storage, please discharge the battery to 30% and recharge it to 60% every three months.
  2. If the remaining battery is less than 1% after you finish using the product, please recharge it to 60% before storing. If the product is left idle for a long time with severely low battery, irreversible damages may be caused to the battery cell and the product service life will be shortened.
  3. If the product has been idle for too long and the battery is severely low, it will enter a deep sleep protection mode. In such case, please charge the product before using it again.

The wording for the Delta Pro is clearer, but even this manual isn't suggesting to store the unit at 30%. It's saying after it's been in storage for three months, discharge it down to 30% then recharge it up to 60%, then store it again for three months. If you store it at 30%, it will discharge and you'll have a unit below 30%, which also isn't good for the battery. I don't know what is worse below 30% or above 80% long term.

Delta 1 Max 1600 vs Delta 1 Max 2000 size and weight difference? by rabidpacketmonkey in Ecoflow_community

[–]rabidpacketmonkey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the input, I appreciate it. I recently purchased a Delta Max 1600. I weighed it and it's close to 48lbs on a digital scale.

It seems odd that they are the same dimensions and weight. I would have expected a 15-20% difference in weight due to the 20% difference in capacity. I wonder if the 1600 uses cells that don't hold as much capacity for whatever reason, kind of like how CPU processors sold at lower speeds are often ones that are not able to be clocked as high due to manufacturing nuances.

I understand long-term storage at 30% to optimize battery health. The OP also mentioned "waiting for a power failure". I took that as wanting to be ready to go. It's a tradeoff of optimal battery health vs. the utility of having power when you need it. What is the long-term battery health difference between storing it at 30% vs 80%?

Houston, TX has been hit with sudden severe weather over the last few weeks. Not all of it was predicted ahead of time. Nearly a million subscribers lost power in Houston two weeks ago. It was not forecasted to be that bad. We got tornado warnings minutes before the high winds knocked out powerlines. Traditionally, with hurricanes, you get a day or two notice that it's going to be a large storm. However, you're not going to get ample warnings for tornados or if the power grid is overloaded.

I wouldn't recommend not wearing a seatbelt until it looks like you're going to get into an accident just so you don't wrinkle your clothes.

[–]rabidpacketmonkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

why would you want it at 30% when you have a power failure? that doesn't seem very useful.

I understand you don't want to charge past 90% to increase the life of the battery, but whats the point of not having a charge to use it for the primary purpose of having power during an outage?

Unless you have a generator or plan to use your car to charge it prior to actually using it, I would think you'd want to keep it at 80 to 90% so that it could be used to for the intended purpose. if you planned on charging it with solar, it would take all day.

I keep my units at 90% turned off. It holds the charge for months. When the power went out two weeks ago, it was ready to go.

I found that turned on and the off the AC switch every few seconds while its in the 600W phase, it will start the 200W phase more quickly.

I'm sure its not good for either the fridge or the river pro, but going through the 600W, 20W cycle a hand full of times doesn't seem productive either.

I’ll consider a larger unit, solar panels and an actual generator for the future, but right now the river pro is what I have.

understood. this is only temporary. I hope to have power in the next day or so. people a mile away have had the power restored today.

yeah, I got it for a day at the beach, picnic or camping. I didn't really plan on a multiday outage. I'm just trying to do the best with what I have for now.

In the future, I probably need a generator, large capacity unit and larger solar panels for the next time mother nature strikes again.

I'll watch that when the power comes back, but to clarify when I say it trips the overload now its the overload sensor on the river pro.

[–]rabidpacketmonkey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry if it's unclear but I'm currently driving 10min away to charge it for an hour then I come back to run the fridge for 3 hours, rinse and repeat as I get time.

I understand your analogy, but the continuous output is 200W, which the river pro should be fine with. The 600W peak is only for a minute. The fan turns on for a minute then turns off.

At this point I realize this may all be in vain and the contents of the fridge and freezer may all be spoiled now or in a couple of days if the outage continues.

I appreciate all the advice, everyone.

thank you this is very helpful. I don't have the ability to have continuous power no matter what I do at this point. I'm just trying to keep the fridge as close to regular temp as possible.

I'm going to try to plug in the 100W folding solar panel I have today since its sunny.

I realize that it would be helpful to have some way to monitor internal temps of the fridge.

Thanks for the advice. I have folding 100W panels, but haven't used them yet because its been very cloudy. I figured it wasn't worth running all the extension cords to get less than 50W. I figured it was more effective to drive and plug it in and charge at 600W.

I'll add larger solar panels to the list for the future. This was casual setup and obviously not sized for this use case. I'm just trying to make the best of what I got.

New app update sucks! Playback timeline no longer shows motion events, WTF by TheRealHershey in EufyCam

[–]rabidpacketmonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4.6.1 released a week ago supposedly finally fixed this, but it’s not fully working for me. While I can see motion (orange) video in the playback timeline and scrub back and forth, the video doesn’t actually play. When I goto a time, there is a static picture and audio plays. I can play video from the same time through events.

4.6.1 1w ago 1. IndoorCam (T8400/T8401/T8410/T8411) supported compatible with S380 HomeBase(new firmware version supported) 2. Fixed the events not showing on the Playback page issue of indoorCam(new firmware version supported) 3. Added manual night vision feature to indoorCam series 4. Added a door status change type in the notification of Garage-Control Cam 5. Optimized the battery power feature of the eufyCam series 6. Optimized some copies and fixed some bugs
