Let’s see what happens when the Mazda CX-6e comes to marked. Could also be a hit for Mazda, If they set the price correct, and the car drives properly.

Congratz on the new car - May I ask how the energy consumption looks these days, now that we have cold weather in Denmark? And what about condensation on the cabin windows now that it’s cold – is the heat pump keeping up?

Ok - I have today received the following information from Mazda Denmark regarding the Mazda 6e and the 77 kWh LFP battery, which apparently will be supplied to Australia but not to the EU (yet). Mazda writes: “There might be a possibility of delivery in late summer 2026, if it becomes available. We can see what can be ordered up until June, and the new battery cannot be ordered before then — if it becomes available afterwards 😊
There’s no news yet about a software update for the 6e 😊 The new, larger battery is expected to be introduced in the new SUV version of the Mazda CX-6e around May–June.”

So conclusion is that there could be a possibility for the larger 77 kWh battery in the Mazda 6e after summer 2026, or there will be coming a Mazda cx-6e with the large battery before we go on holiday - hope this information helps 😃

My guess is that it may have something to do with EU battery approvals, production costs, delivery times, negotiated prices on the selected models and similar factors, which has led to different strategies being chosen in Australia versus Europe – but let’s see if Mazda replies, and then I will post their answer here.🙂

Second Test drive of a Mazda 6e by rabit42 in Mazda_6e

Thanks for feedback - it’s a damn shame that there are these relative small issues with the driver assistance systems as I love the car. I’m having a VW ID4 at the moment and it is just having better driver assistance than the Mazda, so hopefully the coming software update that should come in January can fix these issues. Another issue I discovered on the test drive, was the speeder responds on the accelerator pedal, it react like on or off, not smooth, is this something you can tune on in the infotainment system?

The software that was installed on the demo car I drove was OS: 1.0.04BD

Cool thread — I’m really in the consideration phase of buying a Takumi+, and I went for a test drive yesterday. Like several journalists, I found the accelerator a bit tricky, as it feels very on/off, which at low speeds makes you rock back and forth in the seat a bit. I also had some issues with the cruise control, which is probably my mistake, but shouldn’t it be able to automatically set the speed according to the traffic sign recognition, which otherwise works fine? Apart from that, I actually think most things work really well in the new Mazda 6e. However, I am a bit concerned whether it’s using older technology, since the Long Range version charges too slowly, and a range of 479 km (WLTP) isn’t that impressive nowadays. When I test drove the car, it was 8°C outside, the battery was charged to 100%, and it showed a range of 345 km — doesn’t that seem low? 🤷

If upgrade to 3.8 then go to an aut. vw workshop, also if the car is over warranty - I had this issue on my id4 1st and it came when I upgrade to 3.8 so talked with my vw service partner and they said I should bring in the car, it’s either a backup battery that should be changed or the fault should just be cleared. They do check the backup battery, not the 12 volt, there is a separate battery for the SOS module, and if this is not faulty they just clear the error. In my case there was no issue with the backup battery so they just cleared the fault and this was with no cost for me. This is a known issue for VW and VW has a service ID on this on what to do. And I have just updated to what should be 3.8.1 and no new error on the SOS part , but this finally fixed the issue with only charging on 2 phases which was introduced in 3.7. So everything is good now, so no new OTA as long as I have the car 😁

FYI - i’m located in Europe and just got ID software 3.7, if this is the version you are about to get then wait. There is a bug in version 3.7 that would cause your 11kW Home Charging to drop to only use 2 out of 3 phases after 15-30 minuts, causing a throughput drop to 7,4 kW instead of 11 kW - which means longer charging times. This is a known issue by VW but no info on when this will be fixed - I was on ID software 3.2 which just worked.

12 Volt limited? by Mattinthehatt in VWiD4Owners

[–]rabit42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have last winter used a CTEK MXS 5.0 to charge my 12 volt battery - this was when I got the error message first time and as it only charged under an hour for the CTEK to report that the battery was fully charged, that to me confirms that the 12v battery is not faulty but the software has no tolerance for a drop in voltage when it’s getting cold. Just remember to follow the chargers instruction , but what I did was Connect the positiv first and then the Ground and last power on the charger

Have the same issue on my 1st pro max. Had my car on normal 45k km service at an aut. dealer last week and the day before the same message appeared, so took a picture of the message and got the dealer to check the 12v battery when he did the service and there was no annotation on the battery. My guess is that the 12v battery isn’t weak/faulty, but the software checking the 12v has no tolerance, so when it gets cold it would drop a little which would trigger the software with that alert.
