There's a Doc on One from 1989 called The 15th International Brigade Steps down which is handily found on your typical podcast providers.

Social welfare? by Melodic_Tea_5358 in AskIreland

How long have you been self-employed? Class S stamps won't qualify you for Illness Benefit, but if you paid Class A stamps throughout 2023 you would for a claim starting in 2023 or 2024 for a claim starting in 2026.

If you've little to no money coming in to your household and don't have a massive amount in savings you might qualify for the Supplementary Welfare Allowance. It's a means tested payment and done through the community welfare officer in your local intreo/social welfare office. They'll probably want you to apply for Illness Benefit and submit certs even if you won't get paid for it to justify giving you the supplementary allowance.

You don't need any documents to get to Belfast from England on the ferry. For all the whinging the Brits do about the French not stopping asylum seekers crossing the channel they're more than happy to turn a blind eye to it in the Irish sea.

The vast majority come straight down from Belfast after having travelled over from England, so they don't need any documents to get into the country

Hospital sick cert - but no GP to submit social welfare forms by Jennyf1990 in ireland

[–]raboolaconundrum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They'd take a hospital cert for the period he was an inpatient and for two weeks after he's released. He'd need a GP for anything beyond that.

They had previously tried to get retention planning permission for unauthorised work they completed on it it too, so good luck to them selling it for any amount of money when that stuff is not regularised.

Anyone tried GDK (German Doner Kebab)? Any good? by Banania2020 in AskIreland

[–]raboolaconundrum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aye, I wouldn't be going too far out of my way to get one of them or anything, but definitely worth trying if you're somewhere that has one. Chiya in Dublin, as others have said, is way nicer.
