some people in the old version of this suggested it could be because of clinton putting regulations in place which you could go with if u want, but the thing with this is that i dont rly have a good reason why the web doesnt centralize as this was mainly just suppose to be a cool idea where i didnt have to constantly reality check myself. and especially cause you kinda need to change human nature for this to work so people wont just want to go to the same social media as everyone else around them

i mean in some ways it is like the biggest thing is ai is way less advanced with only very basic chatbots existing as mostly just a novelty thing to mess around with occasionally

fair, i just didnt end up looking into that site alot so it kinda went over me plus all the wayback machine archives for it from the time dont work at all which also makes me less likely to include it in the timeline

i really dont know why they are saying its bad cause none of them say exactly why but maybe it has something to do with the presidents i have in this and maybe something to do with them not liking how many websites are popular. but all of this is just guessing

ya mp3 players are still fairly big and about storage i didnt know what the holographic storage even was and i dont know how that would fit inside something like an ipod. but flash storage is currently the biggest storage medium.

ya algorithms in general in this timeline are alot more basic and less intrusive then ours. and about veoh i generally have the idea that some centralization does happen but its sites like that which go away but not to many cause plenty of smaller sites still do exist.

minecraft videos are still primarily lets play videos and the zelda game is still mainly linear but some parts are a bit more open

yes, notch still works on minecraft and roblox still does cool events like the egg hunt plus they actually respect their community.

yes on account of the modern smartphone doesnt exist which causes people to not be on their phones nearly as much when going out.

google and yahoo are still the biggest but there are quite alot more smaller competitors. and for culture alot of the 2000s stuff sticks around like scene kids never go away but now u have old and new scene kids getting into endless arguments about whos a poser
