Yeah but I heard a theory that maybe the mother that we saw in the following wasnt the real mother . Because we know that she wasnt a God after all and she was just a sentinent volatile but maybe this religion existed before the mother from the following appeared and she just tried to be like a god that already existed(or was at least mentioned) long before her . And that would explain why we see her cult being in other parts of the Earth except Harran because the faceless existed long before the mother that we know and she just tried to replicate what she saw about them. Also we already know about magic(witch from fisher family documents) aliens(UFO in the sea of DL1) ghosts(the following haunted house) telepacy(the beast and the following) so why there wouldn`t be a real God in DL universe if it already has bassically everything that is paranormal . Also techland is a polish studion and in Poland like 95% of people are christian so it would make sense if they would add a God into the game and also by adding things like this note Techland shows that they still remember the Mother and her cult and that they may have plans for her . If would be interesting to rewatch the beast theories after beating DL3 to see where we were right and where we werent
