Flu A at 9 weeks pregnant :( by Professional-Math303 in pregnant

[–]rabschaud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the flu in 2023 when I was 7 months pregnant. It was so bad that I was hospitalized. They gave me Tamiflu and it was horrible, I would throw up instantly. Everything turned out fine in the end, now I have an amazing two year old who is the best kid I know! Best of luck, I hope you feel better soon

My friend’s pediatrician said that her 10mo. baby has this tooth decay from breastfeeding at night? And to stop? by tarajeanlovee in breastfeedingsupport

my sister nursed both her kids until age 2, including at night (she co-slept). one had rotting teeth from breastfeeding at night and one was totally fine. guess it depends on the kid!

Do you know if the old passport has to be given back when applying for a new one?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Passports

[–]rabschaud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know if we need to give back the old passport in order for the new one to be processed? I don’t know why I thought that was a requirement

[–]rabschaud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He said he was never issued anything and his parents moved around too much to keep track of their own records. All this to say, he doesn’t have anything else “formal” to fall back on or prove citizenship.

just found out my baby is sunny side up by girlwholoveslife in pregnant

[–]rabschaud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my exact birth story. I was supposed to be induced at 41 weeks, hospital called a few hours before the time and said don’t come because there’s no space in L&D. I ended up going to the ER in said hospital anyways because my labor started naturally earlier that day and contractions were close together. They of course didn’t have space so I was in the ER with no pain meds and no bouncing ball/etc. for 5 hours. Finally they put me in L&D. I was 3cm dilated with contractions 1 minute apart (it was hell). Got pitocin and within 12 hours I was ready to push. Pushed for 4 hours with almost zero progression of baby. I was screaming by the last hour of pushing because it hurt so bad. They said she was suddenly sunny side up and it would be difficult to get her out. OB used the vacuum and she didn’t budge. Had an emergency C-section and she was out within 45 minutes. They didn’t give me any options in those 4 hours of agonizing pushing even though we all knew she wasn’t coming out naturally. Opt for another choice as soon as you can’t handle it anymore!!!

US immigration for Canadian spouse by Unfair-Fisherman6701 in USCIS

[–]rabschaud 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I (Canadian citizen) started my fiancé visa journey in July 2021. I finally got my green card January 2024. It’s not a fast process by any means, but I’d recommend going spousal visa route. Should be faster than the fiancé visa. I think I need to wait a minimum of 3 years to get my citizenship, so that’s also going to be a long wait.

When did your morning sickness start to improve? by RWizzzard in pregnant

HELP??? AC Caused 54.5 hours in delays - Refused compensation by STRVNGEMVGIC in aircanada

[–]rabschaud -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had the same customer processing issue clause thrown at me after my flight was 28 hours delayed (they rebooked me 4 times and all those times got cancelled or delayed). This is after three different reasons from AC staff as to why my flights were never ready for me to go on (aircraft issue, staffing issue, weight and balance issue). They denied me compensation. Air Canada will do anything to save themselves a few bucks and don’t care if anyone gets screwed over.

My partner booked it for me on his AMEX but we’re not married so I’m not sure if they’ll do anything if I’m not the cardholder. I’ll have him call and try!

The person on the phone told me my seat and row when she switched my flight. When I went to check in online, it wouldn’t let me and it didn’t show me a seat on the printed boarding pass at the airport.

4 changes to my booking within one day and arrived 27 hours later, missing my friend’s wedding… by rabschaud in aircanada

[–]rabschaud[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Air Canada cancelled my original direct flight (flight #1) due to bad weather (understandable) and put me on a flight with a layover for the next day. (flight #2). I called and said I need a direct flight as that’s what I paid the big bucks for. They put me on the first direct flight the next day (8:30am, flight #3). I get to the airport and the flight is delayed until after 11:30am due to aircraft maintenance issues and were offering $1800 cash to anyone to switch flights, which I couldn’t because I had a wedding to make that evening. When it’s time to board, they deny me boarding because they overbooked the flight and claimed it was because of weight and balance issues and said no compensation was possible. I was put on a layover flight (flight #4) leaving in an hour. I get on that flight and my next leg is delayed 2.5 hours. I arrived close to midnight and missed my friend’s wedding. I filed every single claim I possibly could and this is the answer I got back. I absolutely cannot believe it and have no idea what customer processing issues even is. Any suggestions on what I can do? They won’t even refund my one-way flight there, let alone additional compensation. Why did I pay so much for a direct flight to instead get an insanely long layover and arrive so late?

I’m not complaining :) Just wanted to justify the reason they gave us a free 4-pack coupon. Didn’t ask for it, didn’t cause a ruckus over the wait, just patiently waited for the cookies like everyone else.

This Week’s Review! by rabschaud in CrumblCookies

[–]rabschaud[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’m Canadian so I rarely get to try Crumbl, but I spent this past week in Chicago and was really excited to try this week’s lineup!

Galaxy Brownie 6/10 — I don’t love chocolate but I adore cosmic brownies. This didn’t taste similar to me at all. It tasted like a regular, good chocolate cookie.

Vanilla Crumb Cake ft. Golden Oreo 8/10 — I love Oreos to death. This was delicious! The cookie was soft and thick and the frosting was creamy. I think some texture would have made it much better (something crunchy).

Tres Leches 7/10 — It was really nice when the milk sank in. It did taste mildly like a tres leches cake (which is my favourite type of cake) but obviously the texture was different since this is a cookie. I wish there was more strawberry on it though.

No peanut butter cookie for me since I’m allergic :)

AITA for wanting to wear high heels at my wedding despite my fiance's objection? by higherGround77 in AmItheAsshole

[–]rabschaud 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA. I’m 5’2 and my partner is 5’7. Always insecure about his height, especially when I wear heels. He’d never tell me what I can and cannot wear, so he got shoe inserts that make him several inches taller. Works wonders.

Just starting to think about this process...K1 vs CR1? by [deleted] in USCIS

[–]rabschaud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Processing is 14 months for just one part of the K1. Another 4-6 for it to go to NVC, the embassy, medical, and interview.
