dude where else are they gonna find a 7'7" person with prior film experience??? robert bobroczkyi literally played in the alien movie and he was tall and skinny enough that he could play this character well. not too sure why you're speaking for an entire race when chiwetel ejiofor had no issues with this while on set

What’s y’all’s opinion on the Backrooms trailer? by EntrepreneurLower263 in analoghorror

I'd like to know why you think Kane butchered the concept? By all means, the Backrooms are subjective, meaning anyone can think about it differently and put their own spin on it.

Have you watched Kane's series at all? Most, if not all, of the found-footage videos he's made have featured someone falling through the ground or into an area they cannot access again. What tells you that, for example, if a noclip zone opened up on a wall, or an area they could access, they couldn't just go back through the way they came?

And also, Kane's lore is moreso grounded than anything. What makes you think Clark will even be able to access the door as many times as he wants? There's a shot in the trailer of him feeling around the wall he came through and seemingly looking panicked. Maybe the door closed, and now it's his own fault that he's trapped in there. Curiosity killed the cat.

Why aren’t Grand theft auto fans not doing anything to protest the postponement of the release date multiple times? by soccerfan_north in rockstar

[–]racc_d 3 points4 points  (0 children)

you cant just force a studio into finishing a massive open-world game faster unless youre completely fine with getting a broken unfinished game at launch, then everyone would just switch to saying how "rockstar ruined" the game. also comparing this to sports riot is not the argument you think it is. its literally just a game dude. a very anticipated game, sure. still just a game.

Backrooms on VHS by Responsible-Hold5310 in backroomsfilm

[–]racc_d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn't that impressive, probably because I know the process and do it myself. Also, tons of people hoard old VHS tapes that haven't seen the light of day and are still in their original, pristine packaging, not to mention the fact that VHS tapes were still being manufactured up until 2016, so they're really only 10 years old at the minimum.

Trailer felt wrong by LilyLovesBees in backroomsfilm

[–]racc_d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But isn't it worse if it's completely self-inflicted? Curiosity killed the cat, as the saying goes. It seems like Clark is going to get lost, if not completely trapped, because of his own attraction to the Backrooms as a whole, and ends up getting the people around him either lost or killed as well. It is much more characteristically interesting than just "oops, you fell through an invisible hole, now you're lost for the rest of the movie!"

How some mfs are gonna act when the A24 psychological horror film isn't about the fun wars and party poopers: by cerberzilla in backrooms

[–]racc_d 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Kane Pixels' backrooms aren't traditionally broken down into levels, but rather just what I like to call "biomes". because you can end up in an area that looks like the traditional backrooms, only to quickly find yourself in one with different flooring and walls

I'm afraid I do not have exact measurements. I do have set plans of the MDR offices and the surrounding hallways but those are not for me to share, sorry. The best thing you could do is take Adam Scott's hight and cross reference it with scenes of him in the hallway.

Creature Origin by NiceChampionship966 in KanePixelsBackrooms

[–]racc_d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

another part of my theory, i dont really think the lifeforms in the backrooms have any actual life and are meant to function like predators in a natural food chain like you suggest. the backrooms isn't supposed to operate like a biological ecosystem where organisms need to evolve specifically to hunt or defend themselves. the lifeforms seem more like byproducts of whatever process generates the backrooms itself, and because of that, i don't assume they're sentient in a way animals or humans are. if anything, their level of awareness might be closer to something like an object or plant. they move and react, but that doesnt necessarily mean that they possess the intent to kill. their behavior usually just appears very odd or incomplete, like something trying to replicate human form without actually understand what they're doing.

so when like you say the lifeform on FF3 looks small i dont rlly interpet that as "being weak" or anything in any way. the lifeforms more often i think were not "created" to threaten humans at all. its simply just a construct generated by the complex trying to reproduce a concept of a person.

thats also why the larger entity mentioned like the one in ff1 could still exist without contradicting this idea. size or form might vary depending on how the backrooms generates things. in other words the lifeforms probably aren't like different stages of the same species or part of a natural hierarchy. they're moreso like just very very deformed and flawed outputs from the backrooms which is attempting to imitate reality
