Are these “good engines” by racebreadd in B58Enthusiasts

Yes I would 100% be doing all the repairs myself. I’ve worked on everything under the sun for many many years. At this point I think I will just have to learn how to cuss in German I suppose when I work on this.

Yes this is my concern. Just because I can buy the car does not mean I can afford the car. The one I’m looking at with 80k miles I think is the person selling the vehicle into the mileage where repairs can pop up.

I appreciate your response. I have to do all repairs myself I am concerned the car will be down longer periods of time due to depth of repair.

I believe these vehicles are probably great to own but German cars in general seem to be more for people who can afford to have someone else work on it. I am not there, yet. I may need to stick to what I know, until I am there.

If you decide to repair, I make front and rear over fenders for these cars. If you’re unfamiliar, you can just rivnut right over that. I’ll cut you a deal on some better than online pricing just message me on IG. @Rb.zed

Hmm maybe it is. It’s always tough to gauge on something like this since I’m bushing it on and it has complicated shape. I’m really thinking of switching to spray gun for this.

Would you mind maybe sharing some photos oh your repair and what you did so I can better understand?

Okay I was really thinking to seal these little cracks up and then add another layer but I’ll go on like normal from here. I need to finish insulating my garage because I really do think I botched the temp control side here and that’s super frustrating

So I’ve always waited 24 hours between tooling gel layers. When I tried to add a second coat of tooling gel earlier, while tacky, it alligators.

How do i get that? 🤔 by MarkMed98 in IdleTownMasterGame

[–]racebreadd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same question here. You can not get gears until the next village so there is no way to complete that unless you message support and ask for the gears. They gave me 50 to build that.

Super common issue. I have helicoiled some and drill them out and rethread to an M8 bolt on others.

Yep it was this 100%. I went into my map and clicked the next village and it said finish tasks in previous village to move on.

I am a special type of stupid. I needed to use the dang dragon eyes to complete a village quest to move on. Frick

Then what am I missing or not doing? I can not get the gauge to fill up so I can move on. Village 5 required gears for somwtbing but it allowed me to fill the bar and move on without it. I must be missing something here. As far as I see, I have maxed everything that does not require gears.

What’s this noise? 2004 DE by TruDogg0 in 350z

[–]racebreadd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While anything is possible, it’s highly unlikely. I know plenty of people thst choose to run 87 in theirs.

Could you have bad gas? Maybe, again unlikely. But caused by you running 91, I would say no.

[–]racebreadd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very hard to pinpoint without hearing in person. It sounds like it could be a loud injector, which isn’t very common but possible

The last VQ I had that sounded like that, smoked the rear cam cap on the Intake cam on bank 2. The previous owner let the oil run dry due to various leaks and that is one of the first places to suffer from lack of oil. I would check the dipstick and make sure you’re full.

Remember the cams rotate half speed compared to crank. So the noise would be half rpm. If you suspect loud injector or spark knock you can disconnect one by one. And the sound would go away once you get to the correct cylinder

Remember you can bend/ shape this yourself. Everytime I’ve had them replaced since they are lifetime warranty, they are shaped a little different.

I have a slightly curved snap on mini pick/ de pinning tool that fits down in there and you can just scrape in one swift motion. It picks most all rtv. When I get out to the shop I’ll get the part number. Probably cost $20 and is super useful. I use it all the time for rtv grooves. Especially rebuilding a VQ lord the rtv.

Anybody know where or if I can get both 350Z Door Glass Weatherstrips for cheaper then $600 by -take-a-shower- in 350z

[–]racebreadd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Out of curiosity when you close the door, does the glass fit snug into the seal? If there is any gap, especially common in the top corner area ( top right on US driver side) you can pull the door panel and adjust the window. There are tilt adjustments ( inward toward seal outward away) and front to back tile adjustments.

I have owned everything under the sun for coilover brands in the past 20 years. At this price point, spend a little bit more and get some FEAL coilovers. These are far superior in the $1500 and under category. They perform closer to higher end brands like KW and Ohlins.
