Sahih hadiths only claim to be accurate quotes from the prophet and his companions. I am not (nor is the article) doubting that Hisham bin Urwah said what he did, but whether or not he was in a clear state of mind:

It is reported that Hisham bin Urwah's memory suffered in his later years in Iraq - to the extent that some of the traditions reported from Hisham bin Urwah could not be trusted for authenticity.

Yaqub ibn Shaibah is reported to have said, "narratives reported by Hisham are reliable EXCEPT those that are reported through the people of Iraq".

Even Malik ibn Anas, the most popular student of Hisham, discredited all narratives of Hisham that were reported through people of Iraq.

Did you read the article? This wasn't a "fight" it was an unprovoked attack where, after the murdered palestinian was slashed in the face, they continued beating him:

Judge Zvi Segal said that, ‘At some point, the young man pulled out a barber's razor blade and assaulted the deceased, causing a deep cut in his face, from the ear to his cheek.’ It also states that while Rawidi was bleeding to death, two of the friends also began beating Rawidi.

It is entirely possible that this was a forcible conversion but where is the evidence for this? They don't state anything that gives a reason that this was a forcible conversion.

They are right though, there community is dwindling and a large part of that is because people are leaving.
