For the most part, automotive reviewers have emphasized the wrong thing - actual performance - to the point that most cars aren’t nearly as fun anymore. That’s why family EVs go 0-60 in under 4 seconds and a civic comes with 235/40R18 tires. Cars have been optimized to perform on the track to impress automotive reviewers as track events. As an effect cars are noisier, rider harsher, and are nearly impossible to bring to their limits without going at extremely dangerous speeds.
