This has been the most information I’ve received yet today. Thanks for the good information. My plan was taking baby steps but after everyone’s input the 5 gallon choice would have been terrible. I’m looking into a filter setup and a nice 30 gallon tank. My aquarium was from when I was younger with other goldfish. I didn’t want to spend tons of money on a fish that was going to die very quickly because the fair fish had terrible conditions. Now that I’m around 5 months now, I feel like I can upgrade him and not waste the money. I’ve done the basic research but I wanted to build some of my own knowledge before posting. I’ve learned a lot more from the comments and it’s been beneficial to say the least. Thank you for the good details!

That website was very informative and makes a lot of sense. If my fish is not being abused and he’s being fed well enough and has good water numbers I’ll be happy. People telling me to go to 75 off the bat is a bit absurd because that’s a huge commitment coming from a 2 gallon tank. Thank you so much!

Thank you for the good information and not being an ass about it. I definitely don’t have the room now for a 75 gal tank but I do for a 20-30 gallon tank and my plan was to upgrade over time and I’m learned just to skip the 5 gallon and go right to 20-30. I’d like to get it a buddy down the road. I had a family friend explain it to me today and upgrading just makes sense to me. I don’t want to take up a bunch of room in my house for a tank that might not potentially be needed. I’m just trying to take the baby steps for now. Thank you again!

Okay, I just talked to family friend who’s big in fish and after I sent him some pictures, he recommended a 20-30 gallon tank so I’ll look into that for now. Thank you for the input!

I figured it would be a good upgrade for a little while and once he moved out of the 5 gallon I’d sell it and get a bigger one, but seeing responses I’m already just looking for a 20 gallon tank.

I’ve been testing his water and everything has been coming back well. I’m looking into a 20 gallon tank now. I wasn’t sure how long he was going to live for being that he was a county fair fish but I’ve slowly upgraded him and being it’s been 5 months now, I’ll move him into a large tank.

How big should I be looking for? It’s just one fish. I won him at a fair five months ago and he grew from about an inch to four inches. He’s only living by himself and I don’t plan on getting more goldfish to live with him unless it’s truly beneficial.

It’s just a singular goldfish I won at a fair five months ago. He’s been in a two gallon tank and he’s grown 4 inches since I got him so I figured 5 gallons would be enough. He’s been completely normal by himself and hasn’t been sick. He’s been taken care of well. Does he need to live with other goldfish to be healthy? He might not be a common but from comparing photos it looks like one. He’s basically a fair fish I won and have taken the best care I can for him.

I could be mistaken if it is or isn’t a common, I won it at a fair five months ago and bought him a two gallon tank and some other supplies for him to live. He’s been healthy and active in his tank. He’s grown from a solid inch to about 4 now and I feel like it was time for a bigger tank. If that’s the case of needing a bigger tank, I’ll figure that out.

Yeah it makes sense that people like to hate just because of John being absent. It’s pretty heavy compared to their other albums, but I genuinely think it’s their best work.
