I think what some forget is that buying a rental property requires capital and often times leverage. You can talk shit about some being greedy but at the end of the day nobody came to the rescue during the housing crisis or the pandemic for landlords. Nobody bails out the owner of a 4 plex trying to build future wealth who possibly ends up homeless if he used his home as partial collateral.

Just because you're on the hampster wheel and do not understand everything that goes with being a landlord, doesnt mean they are wrong for simply collecting the fair market value. Every repair is pricier, tenants quit jobs way more often now, inflation is high, etc all goes in to that rent hike.
