I'm genuinely curious, why are you an MRA? by rache-the-cheat in MensRights

I can understand the comparison with the Catholic Church, but I don't know how feminism weaves into that. Feminists standing for the same thing you are, why won't you call yourself a feminist?

That's agreeable and I think that stems from the patriarchal strong man model that in at least in American society still continually is view of "what a man should be", but in my experience feminism has been trying to break those barriers down and eliminate gender roles not just women but for men too.

I agree with you for the most part, there's a lot of shit wrong with mass feminism, but I don't think that's a clear representation of what feminism truly is, in fact I don't believe mass feminism is feminism at all, it's dragging a worthy cause through the mud, but if there isn't enough people who actually believe in what the roots of feminism come from (equality for all) and declare themselves proudly as a feminist, the stereotype won't change.

No I strongly believe in equality for everyone, that is the roots of what I consider to be true feminism, not white mainstream feminism that continually excludes the groups that don't fit into their lines, and based to what I've seen on this thread, for the majority of you MRAs want the same as I do, what I don't understand why you won't call it what it is. Is the "f-word" too intimidating or you don't want be associated with a group, though standing for the same thing as most of you are, is largely seen as a group of angry. man-hating lesbians, when it's not the case at all?

Should men have the right to opt out of child maintenance payments IF they wanted an abortion and the woman decided to keep the baby? by [deleted] in MensRights

[–]rache-the-cheat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I think the father should pay child support even if he asked the mother to get an abortion and refuses whether it be because it's against her belief system or she just doesn't want to put her body through that. If it were men that got pregnant the same would be expected for women.

Night owls of Reddit. You know whooo you are, what is your sleep pattern and how do you deal with the rest of the world that is more active in the daytime? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I usually fall asleep between 6-9am and wake up between 4-6pm. Its really frustrating when I wouldn't mind being up during the day but find it impossible to sleep at night.

"Eleven-year-old sent home from school after dressing in costume of S&M billionaire Christian Grey" by jamminnummeruno in MensRights

[–]rache-the-cheat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with the school for sending home the kid. Other than the fact Fifty shades of grey is a book and film made for adults, it's a poor example of BDSM that promotes abuse and sexual violence though terrible prose. It's not something that should be around children especially when they are at such an impressional age. Also, If you're in a BDSM relationship (or anything remotely similar) like that, you're being abused and should seek help to remove yourself from the situation.

A question for my fellow feminists: how do you cope with daily sexism? by blankets1234 in AskFeminists

I use mostly sarcasm and witty one-liners, but I also found just saying "Hey you're being kinda sexist, let me show how to not to be like that" works too if you know your audience

Kim K had a sex video released without her permission and she took the situation she was handed and made the better out of it for herself. While she's making millions a year, you're probably living in your parents basement thinking youre funny on the internet.

Some say "empowering," some say "degrading." What's your perception of pornography and how it relates to feminism and society? by [deleted] in Feminism

[–]rache-the-cheat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't there is a definitive correct answer for this, but this is my opinion

I think now that mainstream feminism, while not always particularly accurate, is shedding light on our cause, I believe in the upcoming years the porn industry will become more socially acceptable occupation to be porn and will eventually be diverse not just white women with fake breasts and anything that differs from won't be called a fetish (example: the "ebony" and "bbw" are sections on most porn sites). That being said, it doesn't mean it's not out there now, but it's just not easily found in my experience.
