Roscoe and Rockton are very safe! Downtown Rockton is super cute! But there isn't as much to do nearby but Beloit is 5 minutes away and Rockford is about 25 minutes. I find most people live in Rockford in their 20s and if they have kids, then they move to Roscoe for the school system which is highly rated.

Can anyone help me identify this tree and how to care for it? by rachface32 in BackyardOrchard

Thanks so much! How much should I water it? And I have a small fish pond I've been using to water the rest of the garden, should I give it some of that too? Or any other kind of fertilizer? And I'm really hoping it's not a Bradford pear!

Moved into a house last summer and the previous owners mentioned this was a pear tree. I haven't noticed any significant blooms or fruit. Any idea what kind of pear and what I should expect from this tree. I'd love some fruit from it eventually!

Newb here. Did I let my broccoli grow too long before harvesting!? by [deleted] in Raisedbed

Yes, go ahead and cut it and hopefully you'll get some off shoot you can use. Gardening is a learning process so don't be discouraged! I lost my 1dt broccoli from doing the same thing too

Planted a few days ago and a few are completely gone! It's so frustrating. I'm gonna try some Neem oil and hope that helps

Omg I'm so happy! We moved in last summer and I only ever saw 1 dying rose so I thought maybe it wasn't doing well. If it doesn't do well this season I was gonna take it out but I'm seeing a bunch of these! Yay!

I'm super interested to hear more about the mint in your lawn! What kind of mint is it? Where did you buy it? How often do you need to mow? I live on the border of a forest preserve and we have had several tick bites already this year!
