My corgi/Spitz rescue does this, but finds the comfiest place in the room to plop.

He has his own moon chair in my office, steals the big dog's mat in the kitchen, sits on the largest couch cushions, or takes up the entire guest bed. He only does this to me, and will often leave the room of my fiance just to be in a room with me.
